Key Focus

This role heads the function and acts as an interface with various product divisions for engineering and industrialization of new products and deployment of good manufacturing practices across plants.

Roles and Responsibilities

- Benchmark and implement best manufacturing practices.

- Standardize processes to ensure accuracy and optimization.

- Implement productivity improvements for existing products resulting in at least 3% reduction in production costs.

- Control and monitor manufacturing cost (PRI) for all products across Legrand.

- Conduct load capacity reviews (SOP is the input for this) to:

- Ensure that production capacity is in line with the demand.

- Predict, forecast, communicate and follow up with functional heads.

- Manage and control the entries for all BoM items in the MAPIC database.

- For new products prepare and control the CAPEX budgets, prepare the detailed plan for industrialization of the product and drive the project execution by collaboration with other teams.

- Innovate, suggest and implement all engineering changes in the plant.

- Support all new product lines and entities with technical and process expertize.

- Ensure horizontal development and lean manufacturing practices are implemented across product lines.

- Collaborate with ME, production and purchase to ensure timely deliveries.

- Work with finance team for PRI validation, ROI calculations and make/buy product decisions.

- Identify, develop and retain top talent and build a cohesive team.

- Work closely with the India and group management team to ensure implementation of the operational and business goals.

Qualifications, Role Specific Knowledge and Experience

- Bachelor degree in electrical/mechanical Engineering with relevant work experience of 12 - 18 years

- Experience in manufacturing industry and working in a multinational environment will be an advantage

- Strong project/programme management expertize

- Highly proficient in using MS-Office applications like excel, word and power-point and ERP applications)

- Excellent communication and presentation skills
