Focus of the roleNew product development, Life cycle management & testing in internal and external test lab.
Primary Responsibilities:
To design & develop new products and to provide support till the production & product launch phase, along with life cycle management for existing products ensuring continuous improvements
Roles and responsibilities:- Design and develop concepts for New Products under development.
- Provide design output/ Specifications in both 2D and 3D format
- Validate and test the samples/ prototype as per the design specifications and standards. Also, Ensure new product features/ function are met as per marketing specifications.
- Make changes/ improvements in Design based on the testing results and ensure that the product is functioning as per its features and specifications.
- Creation of Item codes, Engineering BOM. Coordinate with DBM for incorporation in ERP systems.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams - R&D Industrialization, CPD, QA and ME teams for new product development and qualification.
- Undertake testing/ certifications of new products from Internal & External Laboratories.
- Work on design and process changes to improve the productivity of existing products being manufactured.
- Support the R&D Industrialization and Process department to develop and qualify tools, Jigs, and fixtures.
- Train team members on product design, development, and 2D/3D design software and sharing of Technical Knowledge within the team and other departments.
- Work on continuous product enhancements and life cycle management of all products.
- Initiate and implement change management processes and achieve more than 90% of completions before due dates.
- Analyze customer complaints, Production stoppage feedback and provide solutions in time.
- Manage and control data to ensure database accuracy of over 90% consistently.
- Work with quality, production, planning and procurement, vendor development, press shop, and mould shop for increasing process efficiencies and productivity and also improve the R&D operations.
Requirements- 5 to 12 years of hands-on experience in Switch Gear Design & Development.
- Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, with hands-on Experience in Creo
- Familiar with 3D modeling in Creo, like part modeling, sheet metal, and assembly.
- Basic Knowledge of Plastics, Sheet Metals, Steel, and Packaging Materials.
- Conversant with the CFT team for Technical Discussion.
- Knowledge of switchgear testing and IEC standard
- Experience in productivity/value engineering
- Proficient in MS office.
Required Knowledge:- Core design experience for switchgear products - ACB, MCCB, SD, Fuses, MCB, RCCB, and Controlgear is essential
- Highly proficient in using MS-Office applications like excel, word, and power-point and enterprise application software, Cero, ProE AutoCAD, Solid Works, CATIA, etc.)
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
Required Skills:- Knowledge and experience in Electrical/Mechanical designing of Switchgear Products.
- Expertise in Designing through design software.
- Knowledge of standards like IS, IEC, and ISO related to products.
- Product testing, data analysis, and reporting skills
- Project management and interpersonal skills
