Opening for Indirect tax with a leading Consulting firm
Experience :
- Post qualification min 5 years experience in Indirect tax in the field of litigation
- Preparing reply to Show cause notice
- Meeting with the tax officers for assessments
- Prepared tax appeals to be filed at the Commissioner (Appeals)
- Prepared tax appeals to be filed at the Court (i.e. Tribunal, High Court / Supreme Court) will be preferred.
Key Responsibilities :
Client service delivery/execution :
- Ability to pro-actively identify and discuss technical issues with clients while being mindful of firm risk issues
- Handle tax matters with regard to preparation of submissions, replies to notices, appeals etc, meeting the tax authorities, representation during appeals along with managers etc
- Executes the work on a multiple client base. Assumes near independent responsibility for smaller clients
- Develops rapport with middle layers of client management
Develops commercial acumen:
- Stays abreast of firm wide and competitor activities and general business trends
- Brings value to the client and manager by applying this knowledge in delivering solutions to clients
Networking & Identification of opportunities :
- Begins to identify new opportunities for existing clients and communicates to manager
- Networks internally within the peer group and other levels in the firm in order to gain understanding of issues that may impact issues with his clients
Partnering and Building Relationships, Lead role in client service delivery. Acts as a Trusted Business Advisor
- Participates in advising clients on strategic issues and understanding client's needs
- Plays a strong role in involving multi-disciplinary teams across the BU in providing services to important accounts
Sound commercial acumen :
- Provides a perspective on global trends, emerging industry issues and emerging practices on client assignments. Is able to proactively alert clients on business environment changes that impact (or would impact) the client
Marketing & Business Development :
- Creates and manages strong independent relationships with clients at senior positions with minimal partner involvement, expands client base with new wins and conversions (both existing and new clients) for the business unit.
- Has strong internal and external network s. These are leveraged for building and growing the firm's business
Leads and coordinates the planning and management of medium/large assignments, independently
- Pricing, Billing & Recovery
- Maximize fee opportunities
Leadership & Team Work :
- Proactively takes a leadership role where appropriate
- Creates a climate of high performance in the team
- Works effectively in cross service-line engagements
- Is a role model, mentor and coach
- Is approached by members of service line to assist in resolving people issues
- Is an ambassador of the firm and projects the firm's values in conduct
- Contributes to talent acquisition by tapping external networks to identify / refer high quality candidates for the business unit.
