- As a part of the application services team, he/ she will be responsible for reviewing current business processes across commercial department and its various sub functions.
- He /she will provide a highly effective, proactive and responsive applications support service to commercial department, ensuring that their applications/systems operate efficiently, reliably and to agreed SLA's and KPI's.
- The individual will also liaise with business teams to understand their future needs and translate them into systems and strategies to deliver effective business outcomes.
The basic job responsibilities will include :
- Drive solution architecture, product prototyping, development and release engineering for areas of airline reservations, departure control, revenue management, passenger forecasting, commercial budgeting and other similar areas around airline commercial department.
- Manages requirements for all business requests and guide the team on solutions that meet the current and future business needs. Create an IT Roadmap for the Commercial department and ensure that partners work towards delivery of the roadmap.
- Manages the design, policies and standards working towards maintaining a stable, viable architecture to ensure consistency of design across projects.
- Engage with suppliers and partners to translate business needs and ensure delivery of business outcomes.
- Manage the planning, resourcing, tracking and monitoring of milestones. Maintaining accountability to stakeholders and ensuring timely delivery to internal customers.
- Managing the financial budget for the commercial IT deliverables and projects.
- Implement industry standard practices around delivery of technology services.
- Manage operations of complex commercial systems ensuring consistency with laid processes and specified requirements around integrations with external systems, API's and payment gateways.
- Provides advice on technical aspects of system development and integration (including requests for changes, deviations from specifications, etc.) and ensures that relevant technical strategies, policies, standards and practices are applied correctly.
- Identifying and executing process improvements through implementation of industry standard best practices.
- Maintains application support processes, and ensures that all requests for support are dealt with according to agreed procedures. Support will involve close collaboration with the suppliers having development teams, infrastructure teams, Database administration or Network support.
- Liaises with third party suppliers and contractors as required to maintain levels of support/service; upgrades and integrates new requirements in partnerships with colleagues. Monitors and report on supplier performance. Implements supplier service improvement actions and programmes
- Ensures applications/software environments are fully maintained with appropriately supported revisions, fixes, updates, patches and/or service packs in line with maintenance policies. Prior to installation ensures full testing, sign off and change management approval has been obtained prior to release into production environment.
- Ensures business continuity and system resolution/recovery activities are in place.
- Prepares management information to input into management reporting in respect to service levels and support activities (e.g. dashboards, RAG status, SLA- s, KPI's. risks/issues) as well as for development activities (e.g. Delivery dates, SDLC compliance, Defect ratios etc.)
- Provides assistance to the supplier teams with testing and deployment of application/software changes/releases through the formal change management processes.
