SBU Head
Principal Duties And Responsibilities :
- Responsible for the overall Fabricated Steel business unit by offering technical and commercial leadership and be responsible for the Balance Sheet of the SBU, including preparation of operational and development budgets which are derived after preparing a five year long-term strategic plan and be responsible for achieving top and bottom lines as well as growth set in consultation with the Board of Directors.
- Capable of identifying and reducing costs such as indirect, direct, fixed, variable, capital etc in order to arrive at lower cost of production for all processes involved in the steel fabrication operations in consultation with various departments.
- Capable of guiding the team in the preparation of offers/quotations to clients, participation in the tenders and following up on enquiries to convert them into work orders by meeting existing, prospective and future clients.
- Standardize an appropriate organization structure to enhance efficiency and develop roles and responsibilities for all employees and be able to guide the team of workshop managers, production planning engineers, supervisors and technicians in process improvement techniques and continuous improvement programs.
- Conduct periodical review meetings and prepare reports for the Board of Directors, which include but are not limited to sales, purchase, production, financial processes and people, so as to achieve monthly production targets and meet the delivery requirements of various project sites and establish productivity norms for various processes to monitor productivity.
Skills :
- Proven track record of leading and overseeing the development and growth of profitable new business.
- Practical application of HR, Finance, Operations and Strategic Management in the day to day business.
- Excellent marketing skills and business sense for achieving results, exceptional inter-personal and communication skills (both verbal and written), including negotiating, persuasive and presentation skills.
- Knowledge and proven experience in running Structural Steel Fabrication as a strategic business unit.
- Knowledge of contracting, negotiating and change management.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, six sigma, JIT, Kanban, TPM, FMEA, SAP and BSC.
Qualification And Experience :
Academic Qualification :
- BE - Civil/BE - Structural/BE in Production Engineering or Industrial Engineering plus an MBA or Post Graduate degree (preferable).
Work Experience :
- 15-20 years experience supported by direct exposure to relevant operations in the steel fabrication along-with a proven managerial ability in business.
