Job description:
- The role is based within the Corporate Affairs group in Mumbai, which leads corporate, public and regulatory affairs for India Ratings and its group companies.
- Candidates residing outside of Mumbai are welcome to apply, however relocation cost will not borne by the company.
- The role reports into the Head - Corporate Affairs who leads the team responsible for managing India Ratings and group companies relationships with buy-side investors, capital market participants, industry associations, regulators and media across all market sectors.
- The team has a primary focus for relationships based in Mumbai and across its 5 branches but works closely with colleagues across India Ratings network of offices and affiliates in India.
The successful candidate will:
- Device and supervise the media outreach strategy for the agency and maintain relationships with a portfolio of key market participants and media journalists.
- Direct and manage the media outreach team and its efforts.
- Monitor media outreach performance and provide strategic feedback to senior management
- Mentor, train and guide analysts on media interaction
- Provide direct marketing support to the Business and Relationship Managers.
- Develop and maintain presentation overviews and pitch books.
- Contribute generally to implementation of strategy for the Corporate Communications and Marketing team.
- Lead the CSR function at the group
General responsibilities will include:
- Interact with journalists and investors by sending research, following up on market events, invite to road shows & follow up on requests.
- Writing marketing materials, pitch books and presentations with guidance of senior management.
- Keeping up to date with market issues and proactively identifying areas of opportunity.
- Analysing readership of India Ratings research and following-up new research trials for strategic investor contacts including regular interaction with web team.
- Running regular reports from the database and other sources for the compilation of overall India Ratings Media/Investor interaction.
- Providing information on positioning to senior management.
- Evaluate CSR projects and provide performance feedback
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience in a financial services environment and dealing with financial media journalists (A MUST) across publications, electronic media and new age media.
- Post Graduate degree, preferably in a finance or business or mass media related subject with atleast 7-8 years of experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- An interest in financial markets.
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to a high standard.
- Indian language skills are an advantage.
Highly self- motivated: ability to generate ideas and demonstrate initiative, tenacity and perseverance: individually and within a team.
Ability to thrive under pressure and demonstrate flexibility to meet tight deadlines.
