Purpose of the role :

- Ensure robust day to day management of the India Stress testing team engaging with Onshore team to ensure timely delivery of all required Stress Testing tasks and outputs.

- Reporting to the Head of Stress Testing & Risk Capital, the Head of Stress Testing India Operations is responsible for leading and coordinating all India STARC members.

- Ensuring that India STARC members understand their roles and responsibilities as and where appropriate to STARC teams and that clearly defined roles and responsibilities are in place across Stress Testing India Operations.

- Day to day coordination of Stress Testing India Operations ensuring tasks are completed as and when required.

- Engagement and communication with Onshore STARC management and head of STARC.

- Escalation of local issues impacting STARC and coordination of remediation activities as and when required.

Deliverables :

- Lead and motivate a team of 18 members of staff comprising STARC India

- Maintain close and productive relationships with Onshore STARC leadership team

- Be accountable locally for the timely and accurate delivery of all STARC India deliverables, taking into account different time zones and the fact that some deliverables may be required at short notice

- Develop team members and maintain capabilities required to deliver the objectives set out for STARC India

- Build a market leading team that aims at Operational excellence

- Ensure there is sufficient flexibility to cover for foreseen and unforeseen staff absence across each functional local team

Experience/ Qualifications :

Essential :

- Possess good knowledge of stress testing with a good insight into Business structures, portfolios/sectors and strategic plans

- Good understanding of the regulatory and financial consequences of failures in stress testing processes

- Experience in leadership and people management with a strong ability to influence senior executives and external stakeholders

- Exceptional experience in managing, leading and motivating teams

- Proven people management skills and evidence of delivering/exceeding objectives through people.

- Degree educated in relevant discipline

- Resolving complex problems by engaging people and using creative skills to find solutions and/or identify alternatives

- Mitigating project and operational risks and/or issues across a number of projects or workstreams

- Proven learning agility with a desire to support the learning of others

- Working collaboratively across the Bank and 3rd Parties through leveraging of relationships, Influencing and coaching

- Working under pressure to tight deadlines whilst maintaining quality of work and demonstrating the Bank's Values`

- Strong verbal and written communication skills

Desirable :

- Membership of a relevant professional institute

- Postgraduate business or management qualification from Tier I institute

- Previous experience managing a team which reports into a remote location

Other Significant Role Requirements :

- Deep understanding of STARC organisation and the reliance placed on STARC India

- Tenacity and ability to flex approach to achieve business and customer outcomes
