We are currently looking for an INDIA HEAD- Capital Projects & Engineering position with the topmost FMCG and Consumer Goods products MNC in India. The position is to be based at MUMBAI.

Job Description:
The Engineering Manager is a key leadership role which is responsible for the delivery of project and engineering objectives in the region. The role manages key capital projects for India through all phases of the project including business case development, scoping, cost estimating, safety reviews, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, start-up, and handover to facility management. Where necessary, the EM may be asked to support project and/or initiatives that have a broader impact and assist the Engineering Manager - Asia Pacific in the delivery of regional objectives.
The incumbent Serves as manager of capital projects from concept through to completion.
- Provides assurance and governance across all capital project delivery and serves as the SME for engineering and capital project delivery in the cluster.
- Responsible for managing, forecasting and tracking all project capital expenditure in the cluster, whether plant accountable business-as-usual (BAU) capital project (typically below $250k USD) or plant supported material capital investments.
- Directly accountable for material capital investment projects in the cluster. These projects are projects within a OU/FU that: (1) have a considerable impact on business performance, (2) materially impact the Supply Chain, (3) have very demanding schedules or (4) are operationally or technically complex, requiring well developed expertise in project leadership and project management.
- Applies all applicable engineering policies, practices and standards during execution of projects and engineering outcomes
- Accountable for safe delivery of project objectives (scope, cost and schedule)
- Develops scopes for large, strategic, capital and supply chain strategy projects to support the Lubricant Business
- Provides guidance and key input to cluster operations management during the early stage CVP stages of Appraise and Select. Provides resource continuity for projects as they move from early stage planning into sanctioned capex projects
- Accountable for leading, managing and providing assurance on a portfolio of capital projects through on the Define and Execute stages of project delivery and handover to Operations.
- Leads the project team to develop the WBS (Work Breakdown Structure), procurement and contracting strategy, and the project timeline.
- Manages the human relations part of project teams including understanding the phases of development that new teams go through and using leadership styles appropriate to the phase
- Recognizes and appropriately deploys the current skill levels of each of the project team members in the areas of: (1) the functional department they represent and (2) project management principles, tools and processes.
- Participates in Regional Engineering Network.
- Leads or participates in peer reviews/assists within the envelope as assigned
- Provide direction to, coach and performance-manages contract and external engineering resources.
Candidate Profile :
At least 15-20 years of experience in Managing Capital Projects and Engineering function in a Process plant. Preferably from FMCG, Foods, Beverages, chemicals and related industry.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- B.Tech or M.Tech in Mech. / Chem. / Electrical / Industrial
Has proven ability to apply project management principles in the development and execution of capital projects. Has deep capabilities to assess and evaluate the production, cost and safety/integrity benefits of activities funded through the CAPEX budget.
