India Country Representative/Principal Adviser - Australian University

Role

- The Principal Adviser is critical to the success of our University's India Marketing and Recruitment Strategy.

- Encompassing all aspects of marketing and recruitment (M&R) in India, the role will manage the India team and develop an overarching recruitment and marketing strategy to position the University as a preferred destination for high achieving Indian students seeking an overseas education.

This role will have responsibility for - 

- Establishing and managing the Indian budget; development and achievement of long-term KPI's to achieve strategic objectives;

- Oversight of marketing and recruitment plans that align with strategic objectives;

- Identification and relationship management of key strategic partners, including corporate, institutional and Government; management of Indian staff and recruitment of new appointments; identification and management of market research projects.

The role operates in a matrixed environment working closely with the India based staff and University stakeholders to achieve University goals. This will involve a solution-based approach to the business process of work streams, and a desire and energy to drive best practice

Responsibilities:

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Recruitment:

- Forecast, establish and execute recruitment plans to achieve University's student recruitment goals.

- Coordinate annual and long-range business plans, including incentive schemes and marketing proposals.

- Management of the Business Unit and overall India recruitment budget - and monitoring business results and cost-effectiveness (marketing, travel and incentives).

- Assist the University International Admissions Manager to enhance admissions processes to ensure efficient and effective enrolment practices.

Marketing:

- Liaise with University International's Marketing Communications team to review the effectiveness of all marketing collateral.

- Ensure all materials are fit for purpose and relevant to the market.

- Implement and monitor global best practice to plan and track effective recruitment and marketing campaigns.

- Lead on all aspects of product development and management initiatives within the recruitment and marketing teams, with a focus on market relevant product opportunity research, product scoping and launches of new initiatives.

Business Development:

- Identification and development of Pathway agreements with other education partners in areas such as undergraduate and postgraduate programs, foundation and higher education executive training programs and other products as they are launched.

- Identification and management, where appropriate, institutional partnerships, in consultation with the University's Global Engagement and Faculties, for research, articulation and capacity building opportunities.

Stakeholder Management:

- Development of strong relationships with key Indian Government national and state bodies for research and education.

- Liaise closely with Australian National and State Government departments and agencies (ie TIQ, DHA, Austrade, AEI) to identify opportunities and minimize risk.

- Manage relationships with senior management of University's key recruitment agencies.

- In consultation with University Advancement maintain relationships with University's key Indian alumni.

Operations:

- Manage of a team of three.

- Achieve overall fiscal and operating objectives.

- Assist in the training, development, motivation, and ongoing management of staff including quarterly and annual reviews; new hires and existing training; succession planning and turnover prevention.

- Manage staff, performance, and culture to increase collaboration and cross-selling opportunities.

- Leading on talent management within the recruitment and marketing structure, in conjunction with the India Strategy Project Manager, HR Business Partners, including KPI-setting and skills review.

Planning and Reporting:

- Weekly progress reports to the India Strategy Project Manager.

- Develop and implement a thorough reporting framework, ensuring appropriate and time sensitive reporting by relevant KPIs.

- Drive the organization to a more data-led approach, marrying appropriate quantitative analysis with structured qualitative commentary. Implement robust tracking and ROI processes for decision-making.

- Lead the recruitment and marketing planning cycles, including designing and implementing robust recruitment targets and a budget process.

- Work closely with University International, Finance and other relevant functional teams to ensure integration with university budget cycles and processes.

Other:

- Any other duties as reasonably directed by your supervisor.

- Ensure a strong knowledge of the requirements of the Education Services for Overseas Students Act 2000, the National Code 2007 and associated legislation, and related responsibilities and procedures developed by the University.

- Supervisory Role

- Train, direct and manage the team to assist with delivering recruitment, marketing and partnerships activities.

- Organizational Relationships

- The role reports to the India Strategy Project Manager for daily operational matters and to the Director of Marketing, Recruitment, and Admissions for strategic purposes.
