Incubation Head - Startup Accelerator

The Incubation Head will be the prime interface for entrepreneurs and responsible for managing the operations, planning, marketing, development and growth of the business / technology Incubator. He would be responsible for successfully managing the entire Startup life cycle, right from induction to spin off of start-ups.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES :

The Incubation Head will be completely responsible for leading the incubator operations. This would be inclusive of the following :

- To induct new entrepreneurs; create Incubation plans and implement them, assist in writing business plans, keep track of the Incubation process; help the incubates prepare proposals for getting funding, etc Helping/Guiding startups to build prototypes and eventually building business.

- Ensures appropriate equipment and materials are available for the successful operations and provide incubation facilities to enable commercialization of the business

- Events and workshops : Plan various workshops/events/webinars for the benefit of the startups, and execute the same with the help of team members.

- Mentor Network : Develop the mentor network for the Incubator (Technical and Business) and work with them to make the Incubated venture successful.

- Partnerships : Forge partnerships with other organizations for providing services to the incubates or the incubator; Liaison with the government and industries whenever required.

- Marketing the Incubator and Business Development : Be the face of the Incubator and Represents the Company to the public and outside groups, organizations, and agencies; actively promote it through various channels etc.

- Assists in developing and monitoring program budget, Works to make recommendations on programs which support the development strategy for entrepreneurial growth. Conducts research to identify emerging needs, trends, and services, new technology related to entrepreneurship

- Funding for Incubatee Projects : Work with co-ordination with senior management for setting up and seed funds for start-ups. Proactively Identifying funding sources for projects requiring financial assistance

- Building and Managing the Incubator team. Ensures project compliance with applicable internal and external requirements

- Prepare all required reports and maintain a comprehensive set of records on all project activity, client activity and staff involvement in the process of project recruitment.

- Administration of the Incubator and any other activities which requires the manager's involvement.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE :

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS : Graduate/Post Graduate in Science/Engineering/Entrepreneurship

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE : 10+ years of experience in a business incubator, a start-up advisory or any kind of entrepreneurial experience would be preferred

COMPETENCIES :

Technical/Functional abilities :

- Should have excellent communication and writing skills in the English language.

- Should have knowledge of Business incubation programs, Grant administration practices, Public relations principles, Budget Administration principles, Program coordination principles,

- Experience desired in any aspect of small business, or personally owning or operating a commercial venture

Behavioural competencies :

- This position requires team player with leadership qualities, excellent marketing skills and a professional and positive attitude.
