Position Overview :
- We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Import Rate Procurement, Operations, and Documentation Specialist to join the team.
- The ideal candidate will be responsible for procuring competitive import rates from overseas agents, managing import operations, and handling all related documentation.
- This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of goods from overseas suppliers to our clients.
Responsibilities :
Import Rate Procurement :
- Identify and establish relationships with overseas agents and carriers.
- Negotiate competitive import rates for various modes of transportation (sea, air, and land).
- Evaluate and compare rates to ensure cost-effectiveness and service quality.
- Maintain an updated database of rates and terms from different suppliers and agents.
- Coordinate with the sales and pricing departments to provide accurate and timely rate quotations to clients.
Import Operations :- Coordinate and oversee the entire import process from origin to destination.
- Ensure compliance with all import regulations and customs requirements.
- Monitor shipments to ensure timely delivery and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Liaise with shipping lines, airlines, and other logistics providers to manage schedules and booking confirmations.
- Collaborate with the customs clearance team to facilitate smooth clearance procedures.
Documentation :- Prepare and review all necessary import documentation, including bills of landing, invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of all documents in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date records of all import transactions.
- Coordinate with clients, suppliers, and internal departments to obtain and verify required documentation.
- Handle discrepancies and resolve documentation-related issues promptly.
Qualifications : - Bachelors degree in
Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or a related field.- Minimum of 3 years of experience in import rate procurement, import operations, and documentation in the freight forwarding industry.
- Strong knowledge of international shipping regulations, customs procedures, and documentation requirements.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and logistics management software.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
