Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Assistant Manager US Payroll to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in managing US & Canada payroll, employee taxation, and payroll compliance, particularly in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
The role requires proficiency in tools like Intuit QuickBooks and MS Excel to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, as well as a strong understanding of payroll taxes and compliance regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll Processing: Manage the end-to-end payroll cycle for US and Canada employees, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
- Withholding Taxation: Calculate and ensure the correct withholding of federal, state, and local taxes as per applicable laws.
- State Employment Tax Returns: Prepare and file state-specific tax returns, ensuring compliance with local tax regulations.
- Insurance & Other Payroll Compliance: Administer employee-related insurance and ensure compliance with statutory payroll regulations and other benefit programs.
- Assist in addressing employee queries related to payroll, taxation, and benefits.
- Stay updated on changes in tax regulations and payroll laws for the US and Canada regions.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless payroll operations and compliance.
Skills & Qualifications:.
- Experience: 5 to 7 years of hands-on experience in payroll processing, taxation, and compliance, preferably in the US & Canada region.
- Software Proficiency: Strong knowledge of Intuit QuickBooks and advanced MS Excel.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with employees, management, and external partners.
- Education: MBA or equivalent degree, with a focus on finance, accounting, or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to work independently, and meet strict deadlines.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with global payroll systems or working with multi-country payroll.
- Knowledge of employee benefit schemes and tax implications related to payroll.
