Impetus - Technical Product Manager - Big Data

Desired Profile

- Must have worked on at least one complete product development cycle.

- Must have demonstrated considerable thought leadership experience by creating product strategy, leading and predicting product road-maps. (search domain will be an added advantage)

- Must have a strong architecture/technology background. Be aware of very large complex systems and how they are developed.

- Must have experience of product engineering. Must be a sharp engineer with deep understanding of technology. Extensive knowledge of system software engineering principles like concurrency, locking, caching, networking, and file system, including back of envelope feasibility estimates of system designs. Good understanding of algorithms, data structure, and performance optimization techniques.

- Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written - that could be leveraged to create appropriate impact on internal and external stakeholders. Must be able to present ideas/product to the market and to business executives.

- Strong problem solving skills, and able to thrive with minimal supervision.

- Should demonstrate entrepreneurial skills and bent of mind - one that is keen to take up new challenges, manage risks optimally, ability to consider and convert risks to opportunities

- Should have experience/knowledge on the following: -

Data Warehouses (Teradata/Netezza etc)

Big Data Analytics

Machine Learning / Data Science

Cloud based deployments

Research and Patents

Architectural concepts (Multi-tenancy, SOA, SCA etc) and capable of identifying NFR Needs (performance, scalability, monitoring etc)

Role & Responsibilities

- Monitor and analyze market trends

- Studying competitors- services and products

- Do prioritization and planning for the product backlog

- Provide product training and the necessary technical expertise to sales team to enable them sell the product.

- Identify and present creative and innovative product solutions

- Suggest workable solutions to development teams with consideration for product contract, positioning, and market requirements

- Interface with development leads to make sure that product requirements are understood Coordinate product releases with the marketing, sales, development and service teams

- Demo the product to stakeholders and answer product related inquiries

- Coordinate and Create / Review the product artifacts needed by various stakeholders
