A leading Japanese automotive OEM is looking for profiles from India to be based at London, UK for a major legacy transformation and application rationalization programme. Their team will be travelling to India end of July to conduct interviews with suitable candidates in Mumbai and Delhi. Post selection, the organisation will be happy to initiate the visa processing for the selected candidates.

The selected profiles must have good communication skills, should be willing to relocate to UK on a long term basis. An exposure to key modules in SAP is a must since the target environments are envisioned to be mostly on SAP.

Salary ranges offered will be between 55 and 70 K GBP for the selected candidates.

This job description may be changed from time to time to reflect changing business requirements and the job holder may be required to undertake other tasks other than those that are listed that fall reasonably within the scope of the role and grade.

Role:

- This role is to help the business get better, quicker and more cost effective solutions and is a significant part of the demand management by providing alternative solutions during the business case development/early design phase. The role of the solution architect is to understand the wider landscape of possibilities within the organisation and bring them into the solution.

- This role will reduce the number of separate but similar point solutions and therefore contribute to the cost reduction in multiple licences and support costs.

Main Responsibilities:

- Manage demand to the appropriate level by providing early ‘ballpark’ estimates of the likely project size and cost to qualify the business ideas at an early stage to avoid expenditure of serious resources on projects that are not justified.

- Work closely with the business and the business planning team to provide alternative solutions that allow the business to participate in the cost versus value approach to the solution – re-use, buy in or build bespoke as alternatives at different price points versus functionality

- Contribute as a foundation member of the Technical Design Authority

- Work closely with the business planners and the business to build the business case that will ensure the business realises the value of the project on deployment

- Work closely with the project team to ensure that they deliver the solution to the appropriate level of need.

- Work under the guidance of the EA to ensure compliance with the target architecture

- Provide input to the EA on changing needs that may justify a change in the target architecture

- Other related tasks as may be assigned from time to time.

KPI’s

- The number of solutions that are compliant with the target architecture should increase

- Over time, the number of similar projects that are delivered faster and within the initial budget should improve.

Qualifications, skills and experience required:

Mandatory

This is a key role in organisation’s transition so demonstrated success in a similar role is mandatory. That will include:

- Engaging with the business and the business planning team to provide alternative solutions during the early investigation phase and supporting building business case.

- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills at all levels of the organisation demonstrating confidence

- Experience of delivering solutions architecture services in an SAP environment.

Desirable

- Application and data design for one or more major bespoke solutions.

- Experience of building a solutions library, identifying potential re-use elements in new developments and ensuring that they are delivered so that they can be reused.

- Delivering solution architecture services in an environment that uses one or more of organisation’s other key technical solutions such as AMS.

- Several years of experience in an organisation which sells and distributes manufactured goods.

- Delivering business projects through the full SDLC as a senior project manager.

- Demonstrated ability to work well with IS colleagues at all levels.

Key Skills

- The ability to communicate at all levels of the organisation, to present a coherent proposition and to listen and understand the needs of others

- Practical experience with IT applications development methodologies and tools.

- Good technical background and knowledge of emerging solutions such as Cloud, mobile computing and collaboration.

- The ability to consult and advise IS peers and colleagues.

- Good understanding of business requirements and key business drivers.

- Practical experience of working in an SAP environment.

- Excellent time management and priority setting.
