iCloud - Information Architect - Auto

A leading Japanese automotive OEM is looking for profiles from India to be based at London, UK for a major legacy transformation and application rationalization programme. Their team will be travelling to India end of July to conduct interviews with suitable candidates in Mumbai and Delhi. Post selection, the organisation will be happy to initiate the visa processing for the selected candidates.

The selected profiles must have good communication skills, should be willing to relocate to UK on a long term basis. An exposure to key modules in SAP is a must since the target environments are envisioned to be mostly on SAP.

Salary ranges offered will be between 55 and 70 K GBP for the selected candidates.

Role:

This role is to understand and design how the business uses information with a view to presenting one version of the truth across all areas of the business. Information is increasing exponentially and needs to be exploited as a resource. This role is both strategic and tactical.

- Provide better and more insightful data to improve management decision making.

- Reduce the risk of decisions being made on inaccurate data

- Save storage costs of duplicated data

- Provide the possibility of competitive advantage by better and more insightful understanding of organisation’s customers and potential customers

Main Responsibilities:

- Identify all sources of data from IS systems as well as likely external sources of data and data that is not stored within IS systems at the organisation.

- Working with business stakeholders, define an information strategy that meets the business needs consistent with the IT strategy.

- Contribute as a foundation member of the Technical Design Authority.

- Define the data owner, data definitions and data custodians.

- Work with the business to understand their information needs to leverage existing sources of data better

- Rationalise the data held so that there is one, accurate version of the truth so management can make decisions with confidence. Provide a roadmap to achieve this

- Provide a platform so that data can be analysed and to provide information and knowledge

- Advise and guide the data analysts in the sources and uses of data to reduce duplication of data

- Advise solution architect and business analysts on the sources of data for projects

- Other relevant tasks as assigned.

- Reduction in the amount of stored duplicated data

- Improvement in data quality – data accuracy

- Progress towards a ‘single version of the truth’.

Qualifications, skills and experience required:

Mandatory

- This is a key role in organisation’s transition so demonstrated success in a similar role is mandatory. That will include:

- Defining a viable Information strategy

- Developing an Information roadmap to deliver the strategy

- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills at all levels of the organisation demonstrating confidence

Desirable

- A passion for helping the business exploit their data assets beyond standard management reporting, leveraging the asset to make better business decisions.

- Demonstrated ability to build information governance as an integral part of the project activity

- Experience of improving data integrity and data security

- Demonstrated understanding of the types of data that businesses use and the ability to suggest and recommend cost effective ways for it to deliver business benefit..

- Virtual or real leadership of a group of data analysts

- Experience in managing the amount of data held and its growth

- A degree in a data related science is desirable.

Key Skills

- The ability to communicate at all levels of the organisation, to present a coherent proposition and to listen and understand the needs of others

- Experience with Metadata, MDM, profiling and information quality tools
