A leading Japanese automotive OEM is looking for profiles from India to be based at London, UK for a major legacy transformation and application rationalization programme within its European operations. Their team will be travelling to India end of July to conduct interviews with suitable candidates in Mumbai and Delhi. Post selection, the company will be happy to initiate the visa processing for the selected candidates. Salaries will range from GBP 55K to 70K annually.

The selected profiles must have good communication skills, should be willing to relocate to UK on a long term basis. An exposure to key modules in SAP is a must since the target environments are envisioned to be mostly on SAP.

JD:

- This job description may be changed from time to time to reflect changing business requirements and the job holder may be required to undertake other tasks other than those that are listed that fall reasonably within the scope of the role and grade. IS refers to Information Systems.

Role:

- This role is a mixture of strategy and governance. An Enterprise Architect is responsible for defining the target architecture - the environment in which IS operates at the organisation and to promote that environment.

- This role will manage cost down by reducing the application portfolio

Main Responsibilities:

- Define the target architecture as an integral part of the IS Strategy that supports the business needs.

- Lead and promote the benefits of a defined and well thought through architecture across IS and the business

- Lead the Technical Design Authority who’s membership will include Solution Architect, Information Architect, Application Analysts, Data Analysts, Business Process owners and Technical Architects across EU.

- Regularly review the target architecture to ensure it is consistent with business’s changing needs and technology opportunities

- Define and implement the roadmap to take the organisation from the AS IS state of architecture to the target architecture in the most effective way balancing cost versus time

- Implement the governance processes that ensures compliance with the target architecture across all areas of the IS business

- Provide a principled way for non-compliance to occur if there is a true need, and to bring that non-compliance back into compliance

- Guide and assist the solution architect and applications designers in choosing the right architecture and solution

- Manage out non-compliant applications and infrastructure over time to reduce costs

- Other related tasks as may be assigned from time to time.

KPI’s

- Measured progress towards the agreed target architecture

- Reduction in the size and duplication in the application portfolio as applications are retired

- Reduction in point solution purchases that are not consistent with the target architecture

Qualifications, skills and experience required:

Mandatory

- This is a key role in organisation’s transition so demonstrated success in a similar role is mandatory. That will include:

- The definition and adoption of the target architecture

- The implementation of good governance processes

- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills at all levels of the organisation demonstrating confidence

- Demonstrated ability to understand business drivers and to work closely with the business to understand their strategy and translate that into an IT environment.

Desirable

- Knowledge of one or more of the industry standard disciplines – Zachman, TOGAF, Dynamic Architecture or others. Certification would be an advantage.

- Several years of experience in an organisation which sells and distributes manufactured goods

- The ability to manage staff across a matrix organisation, although this role is not a line management role

- An excitement about technology opportunities and an understanding on how the business may exploit them.

- Demonstrated ability to work well with IS colleagues at all levels.

- Clarity of thinking, clarity in communication

- The ability to think and plan strategically and to deliver tactically
