IA Analyst-Assistant Manager

Quantitative Middle Office:
The QMO or Quantitative Middle Office Team is part of the Global Middle Office (GMO) Team. The IA MO team is responsible for assisting in the accurate computation & reporting of Independent Amount (IA) of the counterparties and in assisting in dispute resolution with the counterparties. The role of the team would be to provide:
2nd level support for Dispute Mgmt post Collateral Operations population validation i.e. Correlation issues resulting in fallback calculation, risk factor mapping issues, missing risk sensitivities, risk discrepancies, low exceptions in the risk engine, etc.
Escalate to Counterparty Portfolio Management (CPM) where required providing necessary explains on the discrepancies found.
Assess internal results for errors and provide assessment of counterparty calculators for reasonableness.
Job Overview – Analyst – Team Leader
Daily Risk validation and Analysis
- Review and validate daily inputs feeding the IA calculation
- Explain the IA numbers for counterparty
- Investigate discrepancies between the IA values provided by the counterparty and the internal calculation
- Communicate daily with FO and technology partners on issues and discrepancies discovered
Process Improvement
- Identify issues and control gaps in existing infrastructure
- Work with technology team to streamline our processes and enhance data integrity and control
Project Management
- Accountable for the success of small projects or sections of larger ones
- Responsible for the quality and timeliness of all project deliverables and well as the implementation of relevant project management practices (status reporting, issue tracking etc)
- Day to day responsibility for managing the project with line, technology and other partners
Qualifications:
Must Have
- Masters Degree in Finance, Economics or Financial Quantitative Analysis
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong technical skills including experience using MS Office, SQL, and Visual Basic; Experience handling large amount of data
- Strong analytical skills
- Knowledge or experience with trading products in capital markets: Knowledge of: Fixed Income Modeling. Pricing derivative products like Futures, Options, Indexes, CDS, CDO, FRAs, SWAPs, SWAPTIONs, CAPs/FLOORs. Knowledge of Financial Risk Management: Credit Risk Model, Value at Risk. Knowledge of Interest Rates, Credit spreads, bond pricing, etc.
- Strong knowledge of market & credit risk
- 2-5 years of experience working in a risk/Middle Office role
Good to Have
- Understanding of the collateral management process at large banks
