Huhtamaki - Senior Category Manager

Responsibilities:

Category Management:

- Manage a significant annual logistics spend of - 8 million.

- Develop and execute comprehensive commercial strategies to optimize logistics operations and achieve cost efficiency.

- Lead contract negotiations and secure favorable agreements with vendors and clients (freight forwarders, transportation companies).

- Analyze financial data to identify opportunities for cost reduction and revenue growth within the logistics category.

- Collaborate with internal teams (procurement, operations, finance) to streamline processes and enhance overall logistics efficiency.

- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and market developments in logistics to inform strategic decision-making.

- Conduct day-to-day commercial negotiations for domestic and international shipments (freight costs, additional charges).

Supplier Relationship Management:

- Manage a network of over 20+ logistics service providers in India.

- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure reliable service delivery.

- Negotiate contracts, manage service level agreements (SLAs), and conduct regular supplier performance evaluations.

- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process optimization within the logistics supplier network.

- Collaborate with internal teams to implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising service quality.

Compliance & Risk Management:

- Ensure adherence to all local regulations and industry standards governing logistics operations in India.

- Mitigate and manage risks associated with logistics activities, developing contingency plans as needed.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:

- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (procurement, operations, finance) to align logistics strategies with overall business objectives.

- Act as a key point of contact and liaison between internal stakeholders and external logistics partners.

Qualifications:

- 5-10 years of experience in logistics operations, commercials, or a related field (post-qualification).

- MBA in Supply Chain Management (preferred) or a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a relevant field.

- Proven track record of success in managing a significant logistics spend and driving cost savings.

- Strong negotiation and communication skills with the ability to influence and build relationships with diverse stakeholders
