Role Summary:
The incumbent will be responsible for driving technical processes, new product development in the unit to meet customer requirements and ensuring adherence to good manufacturing practices (Operational excellence) in the unit are key deliverables. Innovation is key in the business, and he must be committed to the creation of a culture that furthers product and process innovation.
Detailed Roles and Responsibility:
- Lead, Sustain and improve the Prepress, Printing and Post-Press (Secondary)activities of the plant in terms of Efficiency, effectiveness improvement, Cost reduction through Wastage reduction, Value Engineering and Cost control of key consumables.
- Troubleshooting of Flexo Printing process, plate manufacturing, Printing inks, Printing machines, Slitting, Lamination, Screen printing for Day-to-Day activities and developing the required capabilities
- Customer Support: Handle quality/build concerns at customer end. Initiate containment actions to protect customer line disruptions. Ensure timely response for customer concerns and drive permanent corrective actions within the plant. Handle senior customer management interactions.
- Incoming Quality & Supplier issues: Ensure quality of Incoming material. Evolve inspection standards for incoming material. Measure/monitor Quality of purchased material and drive permanent corrective actions at supplier end. Conduct review with supplier senior management to escalate and close ongoing issues in purchased material. Initiate supplier chargeback in case of sorting or line disruptions due to quality issues in purchased material.
- New product development: Be part of FTS to ensure hassle-free launch of new product. Plan and procure required gauges and conduct testing and establish the Process flow for all the New Developments. Develop test report and inspection reports for new product.
- Quality/Business metrics: Monitor customer complaints, deliver ratings and product performances. Drive corrective/improvement actions for better the performance.
- Quality systems: Implementation of quality systems, procedures and customer specific standards. Plan and conduct system/process audits and drive closure of non-conformances.
- Managing day-to-day activities of Production & QA dept, which includes overseeing of RM samples receiving, RM sample checking, clearance etc.
- Responsible for production schedule adherence, OHSAS management system, tracking deviations & monthly reporting of the same.
- Clearing alternate raw material clearance for cost saving in structures & liquidating non-moving stocks
- Taking care of raw material nonconformance during process and coordinating with suppliers for improvements. Testing of RM like boards, films, solvents, CFCs, Aluminium foil etc.
- Doing process validation, product validation& Daily, monthly MIS reports preparation.
- Internal quality auditor & coordinator for QMS, HACCP & BRCGS / IOP systems/Operational excellence projects including documentation
Qualification and Experience :
Applicants with 12-17 years of relevant experience, with Printing Technology qualification. Candidates should have worked in Printing company for the last 7 years minimum.
