Key Responsibilities:
Employee Support & Query Resolution:
- Respond to employee inquiries related to compensation, payroll, benefits (healthcare, insurance, retirement plans), and incentive programs.
- Resolve issues regarding discrepancies in compensation or benefits, such as incorrect payroll deductions, eligibility -questions, and missed payments.
- Provide clear and accurate information regarding compensation and benefits policies, ensuring employees understand the options available to them.
Issue Escalation & Troubleshooting:
- Identify and escalate complex issues to the Compensation & Benefits team or other relevant departments (Payroll, HRIS, Finance) for further investigation.
- Track and document employee queries to ensure timely resolution and follow up on unresolved issues to provide updates and solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address recurring issues and recommend solutions for process improvements.
Compensation & Benefits Guidance:
- Assist employees in understanding their pay statements, benefits options, and compensation details.
- Educate employees on how to use benefits portals and self-service tools for enrollment, claims, and status updates.
- Provide proactive communication on upcoming compensation or benefits-related events, such as open enrollment periods, policy changes, or payroll adjustments.
System & Data Management:
- Update employee records in the HRIS (Human Resources Information System) and benefits systems to reflect changes in pay, benefits elections, or eligibility.
- Ensure data accuracy when processing payroll changes, benefits enrollment, and other employee compensation-related updates.
- Generate reports related to common employee queries, compensation discrepancies, or benefits enrollment to support management in identifying trends and areas for improvement.
Compliance & Documentation:
- Ensure all compensation and benefits inquiries and responses are compliant with company policies, as well as state and federal laws.
- Maintain up-to-date records of all employee interactions, issues, and resolutions, ensuring data confidentiality and security.
- Provide support during audits by generating necessary reports and documentation related to compensation and benefits.
Process Improvement:
- Identify common queries and work with the HR team to develop FAQs, knowledge bases, and self-service resources for employees to reduce inquiry volume.
- Participate in the continuous improvement of the help desk function by recommending process or system enhancements.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's / master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in a compensation, benefits, or HR help desk role.
- Familiarity with HRIS systems (such as Workday, SAP, or Oracle) and benefits management platforms.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of compensation and benefits programs, including payroll processes, health insurance, retirement plans, and incentive programs.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain complex information in a clear and understandable way.
- Exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking skills with a customer-service orientation.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple inquiries simultaneously.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information in compliance with company policies and legal requirements
