- Should be currently in-charge of Day-to-Day operations in HR Ops. For example, right from the day one of the offer release, talking to the candidates till joining, taking care of the joining, stay in the org, with his ESI, PF etc till his exit formalities
- Should have handled Payroll or can be working on the payroll currently. It shouldn't be a simple payroll
- Not a payroll calculation guy who does the work and sends that to the finance team
- We need to ask them if the guy is doing any kind of reconciliation before sending to the team. Are Variances in payments to employees being taken care
If he has done International payroll handling, then it would be added advantage, but not necessary. India is important
Someone who is really strong in MIS, most of the guys who are going to the interviews are not able to answer questions on MIS. We could ask them how to calculate attrition ratio and many do not know how to do it. He said, normally HR ops guys will know to do it when they graduate out of the college
- Working on Database or ERP or SAP is not imp. Fundamentals should be good
- Should have the ability to work with different teams, should be willing to talk to finance to get the pending work completed or should know to resolve an existing issue early to help the employees
- Should have the ability to write emails and express what is needed instead of writing long emails
If the candidate knows basic labour laws of India, that would be an added advantage
