Main Purpose: -

- Execute the ER at factory level, Supporting Plant HR Manager & Ops HR team to proactively engage the mind, heart and soul of employees Associates & Management team.

- Ensuring disruption free operations or harmonious industrial relations between Management and Union/workmen

- Liaison with all external stakeholders (communities, Govt. officials) to ensure smooth and cordial relations.

- Build informal relations with workmen at large so as to ensure open and free dialogue with the union.

- Build a transparent, values- obsessed manufacturing unit driving people capability development initiatives.

- Keep employee morale high by ensuring growth and learning opportunities to all.

- Wage and benefits negotiations with the union

- Recruitment of operatives as per business plan

Accountabilities:

- Accountabilities are statements of the important end results which the job must achieve. These statements should relate to a result or objective which must be accomplished and against which some measurement of performance can be applied.

- Preparation of ground for the ER strategy with Ops HR and plant team, owning and implementing it successfully to ensure disruption free plant operations throughout the year.

- Analysing the internal and external environment and making projections on the ER front.

- Recommending action plans and leading the implementation at plant.

- Proactively getting to know shop floor 'pulse' and resolution of IR related issues

- Representing company at labour courts, civil courts, tribunals along with the lawyer.

- Timely communication Plant HR Manager on IR related areas.

- Recruitment of operatives as per agreed business plan and as per PepsiCo staffing process

- Conceive innovative methods of employee engagement to support talent retention.

- Build a strong connect with all stake holders in and around the plant thru 360 degree connect and ensure >95% compliance of the plan.

- Enabling the preparation of timely and comprehensive AOP with challenging goals.

- Develop capabilities of the supervisory team around ER processes, disciplinary methods, key terms under settlement etc

- Lead change initiatives at the plant level to ensure an adaptive work culture that promotes company growth.

- Ensure two way communication channels to promote fair dialogue with union/workmen for smooth industrial relations

- Keeping employees informed on new developments, initiatives, goals etc. by rolling out CEO addresses, HO newsflash/ newsletter, monthly communication on specific management thrust areas.

- Identifying needs/problems of employees through formal/ informal channels and working to address them.

- Ensuring optimum utilization of manpower in various departments' esp. production.

- Monitoring and ensuring the deployment of contract labour in the plant as per standard deployment.

- Replication of best practices across locations to improve the culture and work environment of the plant.

- Building and maintaining harmonious relations with community members.

- Ensuring no non-compliance with all applicable statutory laws (especially contract labour).

- Liaison with government officials and local authorities in communication with Plant HR Manager.

People :

- Fostering adaptive culture in the plant by leading from the front.

- Support Inclusion & Diversity agenda at the plant level along with the Plant HR Manager & HO

- Support plant R&R agenda thru robust planning and execution of newer ways of employee engagement.

- Provide guidance, clarity of roles and opportunities for job enrichment and enhancement.

- Work upon change initiatives in own area and supporting continuous improvement in the plant.

- Showcasing achievements in the plant to the external environment

Safety:

- Implement safety standards and drive safety culture.

- Participate in safety meetings and close the agreed recommendations within agreed timeline.

- Work with SHE pillar and safety coordinator on implementing the Safety related action points and working to ensure Zero LTA in the plant.

Key Skills :

Education: MBA/ MSW/MLW

Functional Experience: Approx 4-8 years of experience

Language: English, Hindi, Punjabi (Preferably)

Experience:

- At least 4-8 years of plant experience managing workmen and its union

- Handling tough Industrial relations scenarios (negotiating/ collective bargaining with unions)Experience and

- Key Skills/Experience Required - specific education/certification, specific functional experience, language etc NEEDED for the job. Please note that this is not necessarily the incumbent's personal background.

- Education: MBA/ MSW/MLW/ LLB/ PGDPM

- Functional Experience: Approx 6-7 years of experience

- Language: English, Hindi, Punjabi (Preferably)
