- The role will develop and execute on the HR strategy for the business by partnering closely with the leadership team of the mass retail org.
- The role requires systemic thinking as well as comfort with rolling up sleeves to develop practical solutions to business problems.
- The Mass Retail Org is undergoing massive growth and the HR leader will need to come in and establish basic systems and processes to ensure hygiene for a largely operational workforce, as well as think long term to develop engagement strategies aligned to the broader Phonepe values and culture.
- This will include streamlining and management of HR policies and operations and close coordination with the Talent Acquisition team to scale hiring.
- The role will lead HR for a workforce of upto 5000 (FTE and contract) people across India, working with a team of HRBPs. It will require travel to support the nationwide workforce. The position will report to the Head of HR.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 6-8 years work experience in managing end-to-end HR operations for a large off-roll workforce
- Prior experience in managing the life cycle of off-roll Sales and BD employees through multiple third party vendors is a big plus.
- Post graduate degree in HR with strong conceptual knowledge
- Comfort with HR legal and compliance processes, vendor management
- Ability to effectively partner with business to work backwards from problems to solutions
- Prioritise for simplifying and scale
- Creating and scaling HR processes and policies aligned to large scale employee workforce
- Superior employee relations and influencing skills.
- Strong analytical skills

- Outstanding interpersonal and leadership skills
- Able to manage workflow, with minimal oversight, in a fast-paced, frugal environment with multiple and sometimes changing priorities
- Experience dealing with ambiguity and moving quickly to solutions/recommendations
