What the job involves:
- Develop and implement effective legal strategies to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Draft, review, and negotiate various legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and corporate policies.
- Provide expert legal advice to senior management on business transactions and initiatives.
- Conduct legal research to stay abreast of changes in laws and regulations affecting the company.
- Manage and oversee the compliance program, ensuring adherence to legal requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess and mitigate legal risks in business operations.
- Lead investigations into legal and compliance matters, providing recommendations for resolution.
- Stay informed about industry best practices and recommend enhancements to existing compliance processes.
- Represent the company in legal proceedings, liaising with external legal counsel as necessary.
- Develop and conduct training programs on legal and compliance topics for employees.
Qualifications :
- 6 plus years of experience and a Law degree from an accredited law school.
- Proven experience as a legal counsel or compliance officer in a start-up or similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of corporate law, contract law, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic and fast-paced start-up environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Adaptable and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Familiarity with technology and start-up ecosystems is a plus.
