Job Purpose:

Develop and maintain harmonious employee relations at all levels, administration of guest houses, recruitment and placement of workmen in consultation with concerned Functional Heads, coordinates with the dispensary etc, in order to meet the support services of the Unit's business and ensure compliance of statutory regulations, pertaining to labour and industrial relations.

KRA Supporting Actions :

Industrial Relations:

Ensure peaceful and harmonious relationship with workmen to enable Unit meet its uninterrupted operation plans. Interaction wit Unions on periodic basis to keep channels of communication open for addressing the issues from time-to-time.

- Day to day interaction with workmen and handling grievances.

- To arrive at Understanding & Settlements including VRS, etc.

- Generating MIS on any issue arising and co-ordinating with respective departments for solving them

- Disciplinary action wherever required.

Wage and salary administration :

Organise timely payment to workmen and contract labour as per statutory requirement and as per policy laid down by the Unit. Guide and support Section Incharge

- Review of necessary documents

- Monitor all information pertaining to wages (i.e., ESI/PF, etc.) and ensure their timely submission to the concerned authorities

Legal matters and disciplinary proceedings :

Ensure that all cases related to legal and disciplinary are moulded in favour of the Company to enable smooth working of Unit. Preparation of draft note, objection statement, etc., written arguments and furnish all information to advocate

- Preliminary enquiry, issue of charge sheet

- Conducting enquiry in a systematic manner.

- Ensure Managers follow proper processes.

- Recommending for action

- To co-ordinate with legal experts and obtain opinion as per requirement of the case.

Coordinate for ensuring compliance regarding RTO matters like Registration, Road Tax, etc. on periodical basis in respect of Company Vehicles, Heavy Vehicles of Mines, etc. and support & guide the Officer-Incharge in this regard.

Statutory returns in time :

Ensure all statutory regulations are complied with in time as per Factory and Labour Laws Review from time to time of these compliances, e.g., renewal of factory license (once in a year), monthly PF & half-yearly ESI returns, PF contribution statements (once in a year), quarterly employment report to Employment .Exchange, returns with regard to Apprentices under Apprentices Act, annual returnsof contract labour, report to the Inspector of Factories (once in a year), etc.

Communication and contract labour :

Coordinate communication facilities and required contract labour are provided as per requirement of the Unit within the Budget. To coordinate smooth functioning of Contract Labour Section/Communication Section

- Review requirements in excess to budget and advise necessary action

- Liaise with Govt. Communication Authorities

- Renew and monitor enforcement of activities related to contract labour.

Hospital Services -

Coordinates and monitors the hospital services in order to ensure best services to the employees and to the surrounding community Plans for the requirements

Coordinates with the doctors

Organize the special programmes

Takes special care in case of any epidemic In the colony

Monitor and review the activities

Land Matters:

Co-ordinate and support land procurement activities and ensure no encroachment of company's land Support and guide to the Section Incharge in land matters.

Co-ordinate with Govt. agencies.
