Sourcing Director - India region
This is a leadership level role. We need candidate with Sourcing experience of Mobile devices with experience of 18 to 20 years.
Role : Sourcing Director is together with the global sourcing team responsible for Sourcing strategy, Supplier Portfolio strategy and Sourcing initiatives as part of company strategies for India Supply Chain. He/she aligns global supplier portfolio strategies related to India supplier portfolio, supplier selection and supplier management including assessments and purchasing terms and conditions to help ensure products or services ordered are delivered on time at the best quality and value.
- Strategic direction includes alignment to global sourcing policies and methodologies for sourcing new products or services, approving suppliers, and determining when products should be single sources or to multisourced to provide for a stable and consistent supply. Sourcing Director collaborates with internal business partners to understand demand and supplier and technology trends, and analyzes financial information related to total cost of ownership to identify opportunities for cost reductions..
Key Responsibilities :
1. Recruits, evaluates and motivates purchasing professionals for India team. Team members can include buyers, sourcing managers, quality managers and cost analysts. Leadership duties include hiring, onboarding, performance assessment, individual and team employee development, objective setting and monitoring.
2. Oversees supplier relationships ensuring contract terms and supplier technology, quality, supply, cost and corporate sustainability requirements are met. Develops short- and long-range plans to improve performance trough supplier consolidation, co-operation and reduce the total cost of ownership for products and services.
3. Leads supplier technology, quality, supply, cost and financial evaluation and communicates company expectations and standards and negotiate contract terms with suppliers.
4. Monitors with the team supplier performance and generate reports for colleagues and stakeholders. Performance management enables to identify and manage risk.
5. Act as the supplier leadership interface informing organization and markets developments or discuss demand and supply.
Qualification & Experience :
Is an experienced purchasing professional.
1. Is an experienced leader and purchasing professional.
2. Master's or bachelor's degree (business, engineering) preferred and 5 years of experience in consumer electronics sourcing.
3. Good interpersonal skills are essential. Must be able to negotiate and collaborate with suppliers at many different levels. This requires good presentation and communication skills. He/she also need good analytical qualities to monitor and review suppliers' financial and operational performances. He/she must be good team leader, and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to understand and meet their requirements and expectations.
4. Needs experience in supplier management and the related skills of budget planning & control, performance analysis, contract management and supplier performance metrics
5. Must have an understanding of electronics/computing/ telecommunication products and methods
6. Problem solving and process orientation, demonstrated ability to develop repeatable processes or improve existing processes.
7. Able to adapt and succeed in a changing environment
8. Open and collaborative style. Energy and enthusiasm.
9. Ability to travel and positively resolve issues arising from different cultures
Location : Gurugram (India)
Travel : Ability to travel 50% of time
