Hindustan Times - Group Commercial Head/Group Collection Lead - Revenue Assurance

The position is of Group Commercial Head/Group Collection Head responsible for overall credit management and collection for Print, Digital, Radio and Shine businesses along with other commercial activities. The position reports to the Group Revenue Assurance Head and be the key go to person on Accounts Receivables and Revenue Assurance.

AR Management

1. Leading the AR and Collection team for all the principal businesses of the group (Print, Digital, Radio and Shine)

2. Create agreed frameworks to get Monthly/Quarterly targets which are scientific, stretched yet achievable.

3. Keeping a tab on collection and driving collection through personal intervention wherever required.

4. Establish a clear rhythm of review of aged outstanding, drive reconciliation processes and clean AR balances confirmed by the customers.

5. Design, deploy incentive plans to drive collection

6. Engaging sales leadership appropriately to ensure sticky/critical receivables are collected.

7. On a monthly basis come up with threat of Bad debts and plan to recoup the old collectable so that P&L hit may be avoided.

Policy & Processes

1. Responsible for devising appropriate credit policy for customers depending on perceived risks. Harmonizing the credit processes at group level

2. Work on simplifying the credit approval matrix to ensure simplicity yet effective.

Other accountabilities

1. Appointing and managing Recovery Management Partners, their target setting and review of actual performance.

2. Driving cost effective structure of RMPs (Recovery Management Partners) to continuously drive the collection cost down as % of collection.

3. Review of TDS reconciliation with TDS certificate or form 26AS and ensuring that all the TDS deducted is duly accounted for

4. Driving process improvement, automation of collection planning and collection CRM.

5. Driving customer portal for eliminating paper invoices and adoption of e-payment, integration with SAP for auto marking etc.

6. Manage Internal, Statutory and ICFR audits.

7. Strong understanding of legal processes like appearing as AR, court processes and NCLT processes.
