Quality Manager (Nemam Plant) (10-15 yrs)

Objective : To provide finished products with 100% Quality and meet peak volume requirements. To liaise with Regulatory bodies (BIS, PFA, FPO, Environment).

Title : Quality Assurance Manager

Function : Supply Chain - Manufacturing - Quality Assurance

Work Location: Nemam

Job Responsibilities:

Volume and COGS:

1. To ensure continuous production-no plant stoppage due to consumables/lab items and trained manpower

2. To set and achieve plant mechanical efficiency targets and raw material yields

3. To assist in the inspection of incoming material

4. To ensure no BBD stock loss in the market

Quality Measures Targets:

1. To ensure that there are improvements in quality indices of package and product and to ensure that there is product integrity as per targets

2. To establish and monitor the quality systems and procedures in the lab, on the shop floor and in other areas of the factory.

3. To ensure regular calibration of all quality measuring equipment by providing resources and guidance in terms of knowledge and standards to the personnel do it. To ensure the upkeep of all quality measuring equipment.

4. Proper and timely feedback on product quality to all personnel for corrective/ preventive actions and improvements.

5. To initiate and monitor quality improvement activities in the unit. To ensure that there is 100% date coding, 100% DOD compliance at warehouse, distributor audits and improvement in product age in RGB.

Environment Management:

1. To ensure 100% compliance with respect to PFA, weights are measures and FPO license and its on time renewal

2. To ensure that all PCB norms are met for ETP operation

3. To ensure customer response support to CRC

People Management:

1. To train the shop floor workmen, managers, lab people on various quality parameters (visual, functional, physical and taste) and its importance and relevance to the customer.

2. To train the shop floor workmen and managers on problem solving techniques and usage of statistical process control techniques.

3. To increase the level of quality consciousness / awareness among all employees through effective communication systems.

4. To give special projects to small work groups and activate and run quality circles.

- Coordination of TCCMS Quality System requirements, EMS, eKO, ISO 9001:2000, and ISO 14001:1996

- Successful TCCMS and external audits with no major non-conformance

- Continue implementation of each of the components TCCC MS and EMS, eKO

- Coordinate development of Quality & Environmental Systems for Fountain & Vending and Sales & market place as agreed and approved by respective managers

- Management maintains a file of all laws and regulations and understands the applicability of these standards to its operations.

- Plant management ensures personnel understand the applicable quality, environmental and food safety laws, regulations and Company Policies.

- Operations maintain records to demonstrate compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and Company requirements.

- Plant management maintains a file of all applicable Company policies and requirements, understands the applicability of these standards to its operations and coordinates the development, documentation and implementation of operation-specific programs to meet all applicable requirements

- Organise quarterly management review meetings for quality, environmental and food safety for each department covered under manufacturing scope

- Prepare regular updates to relevant stakeholder of quality, environmental and food safety performance of the Company

- Ensure effective communication system is developed to disseminate information

- Coordinate all prep for Internal/ Intra Plant audits for HACCBPL plants

- Coordinate all prep for Food Safety Certifications.

- Coordinate all training requirements for internal auditors

- Overall Implementation management of QMS / EPM and training.

- Core and National documentation management, including system procedures

- Review of all Non-Conformance and ensure each satisfactorily addressed in timely manner

- Manage all records, audit results, management review minutes.

Safety Culture Building:

- Coach Safety Execs to develop a calendar for conducting Safety Audits in plant, allocate responsibility & track compliances

- Coach Safety Exec to develop Safety audit checklists in co-ordination with functional stakeholders

- Highlight key audit findings to site leadership and get the audit gasps closed with functional stakeholders

Safety Budget / Capex:

- Prepare Safety budget for the factory and ensure spends are within budget

- Lead in deciding infrastructure /other Safety related Capex projects

Raise Capital Proposals for Safety related projects

- Supervises: Quality Team Leads & Executives

- Direct Reports: Quality Team Leads, Executives

- Geographical Scope: Anywhere in India

- Reports To: Factory Manager/ Corporate Quality and Environment Manager

Key Customers :

Internal Customers: Plant associates, Finance department, Sales department, Division office technicalDepartment

External Customers: Consumers, Regulatory Authorities, Key accounts, Distributors

Job Requirements:

Qualifications: B.Tech. in Food Technology, or, P.G. with Food Science/Chemistry Major.

Experience: 8 to 12 years in Food Industry.
