Job Purpose :

- Provide leadership to the Core product development across engineering disciplines within the Core Banking Product Suite in alignment with the business priorities and with clear insights into our customer perspectives

- Create, nurture and develop highly skilled associates, first through leading by example, supplemented by, formal and informal capability development initiatives; Manage the career aspirations of key talent while keeping a check on key associate risks

- Leading the transformation of how we work in collaboration with other leaders within the business unit and organization unit to enhance the engineering capability and responsiveness to achieve reliable execution

- Champion the best practices in terms of agile development, on-time and in-full release delivery and automation of devops to optimize the quality and predictability of deliverables

Principal Accountabilities :

IP Capital Management - Direct Ownership :

- Distinguished design anchor who passionately owns the construction of the product, feature by feature to create a differentiated world class product

- Clears the product back logs with pride - defects, changes, enhancements

- Complies with the delivery effectiveness tenets to run a tight and disciplined engineering work culture

- Focus on standards, automation, continuous integration and aligning with industry best practices

Human Capital Management - Direct Ownership :

- Objective grooming of excellent talent through performance oriented recognition

- Retention & recognition of right talents, key associate risks mitigation

- Day to day engagement to drive excellent E-SAT

Customer Capital Management - Indirect Ownership :

- Quality of Deliverable & timeliness to drive excellent C-SAT

- Possible involvement in pre-sales context in terms of demo / POC of new features

- Foster best practices aligned to design thinking, agile development and reliable execution

- Demonstrate the willingness to take measured risks, aggressive timelines and take the team along

- Innovate for better, faster, cheaper solutions for the markets we operate in

- Ability to understand, assimilate, articulate and influence senior executives / large cross functional leaders

- Attention to detail and self motivation to set and drive an agenda

Relevant Experience :

- Proven hands-on experience managing complex, mission-critical solutions involving current technology stacks (14+ years of relevant experience)

- Sound knowledge on product design, product development, release management, change control, solution architecture, performance tuning and deployment architecture, software testing

- Good grasp of various technologies and its usage, JEE, Oracle, HTML5 in particular - mobility, analytics & cloud understanding would be desirable

- Root cause analysis of product issues, defect pattern / anti-pattern identification

- Exposure to SCRUM / Kanban / SCRUM-ban highly desirable
