Head/VP - Operations - eCommerce

Silverpeople is retained one of the largest and most respected conglomerates in India having multibillion turnover, to support them in their big bang ecommerce market entry ambitions. We are looking to handpick, best in class leaders to make the core CXO level team at the top. The agenda is to pick the best talent and create an iconic ecommerce fashion venture. We are looking for go-getters with passion for e commerce and desire to create and be part of something new, something big.

We are looking for a Head Operation (VP Level) for this planned e-commerce venture.

Position Reporting: CEO

Job purpose: Design, Develop, and deliver distinctive supply chain (from suppliers, to warehouse, to shipping, to actual delivery to consumer) and customer service. Optimize for the best combination of cost, time, and quality.

Principal accountabilities: Responsible for the company’s day-to-day operating activities that span supply chain and customer service

Ownership of the supply chain from forecasting to actual deliveries and returns

Defining, architecting and implementing current and future operational/supply-chain roadmap

Reducing delivery costs and time by improving carrier costs, negotiating contracts, optimizing and consolidating order routes and implementing advanced technologies

Continuously benchmark best practices of competitors (including global) and adopt selectively

Manage capital budget for all supply chain investments

Ownership of customer service (including call centers and such)

Core Skills:

Deep functional knowledge of supply chain, and familiarity with customer service

Negotiating with vendors/ partners for forging win-win relationships

Managing a large workforce on 24X7 basis

Ability to go into details where required and step-back for big picture when required

Qualification

MBA (preferably with Engineering background but not mandatory)

Prior experience in leading Supply chain operations in e-Commerce space (or apparel space)

Track record of driving operational improvements through Lean/ Six-sigma

10+ years experience (Age of 32-35 years)
