Scope:

1. Head of Quality is responsible for end to end quality control across the value chain including Supplier, Third party, Manufacturing and Supply Chain Quality.

2. Develop & implement departmental strategy and vision to ensure adherence with customer expectations and improve business performance.

3. Evaluate the challenges faced by the business and take action to mitigate risks and develop opportunities

Role and Responsibilities:

1. Quality process, Compliance, audit and training

- Ensure creation and implementation of quality specific SOP's across the value chain i.e. vendor selection, raw material & product specifications, recipes, manufacturing processes and material handling, supply chain processes and last mile delivery.

- Ensure regular trainings on SOP's and quality best practices for the manufacturing & supply chain teams.

- Analyze customer complaint data to understand nature of product failures and shortfall.

- Responsible for developing the appropriate organizational structure, resource plans and culture to support the business objectives and customer deliverables.

- Present and provide budget for all QA / QC equipment, procedures and department expenditure.

2. Supplier quality assurance

- Implement processes to ensure raw material and end product quality manufactured

- Conduct due diligence on background, capabilities and infrastructure of raw material & TPM vendors.

- Develop systems to ensure raw material traceability across products.

3. Third Party Quality Assurance

- Develop quality team presence at TPM units to ensure end product standardization.

- Conduct regular audits across the value chain (vendors, TPM's and supply chain) to ensure SOP implementation and resolution in case of any shortfalls.

- Handle regulatory compliance (FSSAI) & implement food safety certification requirements (ISO, HACCP)

4. Supplier Chain Quality Assurance

- Conduct regular quality risk assessment of the supply chain from raw material receipt/handling to effectively monitoring cold-chain integrity for fresh products.

- Responsible for hygiene and pest control practices across the supply chain.

- Customer complaints addressed and improvement.

- Collaborates with other members of management to develop, train and maintain the quality assurance in all above aspects.

- Provide leadership, oversee, motivate, coordination, mentorship and coaching to the team, evaluate employee's performance, ensuring they are trained enabling them to achieve the operational and financial metrics within their areas of responsibility and succeed in their roles.

Parallels/ Other responsibilities:

- Responsible for quality function in India, UAE and other international locations.

- Develop and implement QMI for all plants and improve.

- Mentor, coach and develop quality team to meet the org quality standards.

- Responsible for Safety of plant, supply chain and sales work force. Conduct safety audits, provide safety training and coach the team for safe operations.

- Provide strategic direction to the safety function. Carry out safety risk assessments for all plants and DCs and bridge the gaps.

- implement effective CAPA system, facilitate external audits, certifications, evaluate & implement all relevant quality standards across all functions.

- Ensure compliance applicable quality standards of international markets wherever ID products are sold.

Experience, Education and Skills:

- Industry: Manufacturing industries and Manager for at least 5 years.

- Education/certifications: Food Science background (Preferred a Food Tech or Master degree in Microbiologists). Six Sigma green belt or black belt are preferred.

- Experience: He or She should have a minimum of 10 years of experience in the QA / QC field, should have extensive experience in Food & Beverage manufacturing for process optimization, control & standardization production norms & chemical and microbiological lab practices.

- Preference for those with manual production experience. Prefer fresh food experience (or manual dairy QA experience)
