Head US Payroll Specialist
- You will effectively manage the ongoing processes required for the processing of payroll, as well as optimizing quality, effectiveness and cost of payroll operations.
- Assisting Finance in the reconciliation of the general ledger, troubleshooting payroll issues and making necessary adjustments, and working closely with the internal Client Benefit Team to resolve deduction issues.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Payroll processing for North American business
- Provide excellent customer service to our employees and internal partners
- Audit and troubleshoot technical issues by utilizing pay data within Workday
- Deliver payroll related data to our internal business partners when needed via audit reports and research
- Partner with our Unemployment and Garnishment vendors to review data and resolve issues
- Gathers, reviews, audits and submits time data within Kronos
- Responsible for pay adjustment processing including taxes, benefit deductions, garnishments, union dues, charitable contributions and additional earnings
- Partner effectively with HR, IT, Finance and other functions to ensure appropriate flow of data and reporting
- Develop and implement processes to ensure accurate collection, calculation, and input of data
- Provide necessary support to implement acquisitions and divestitures including employee onboarding and instructions
- Partner with internal and external auditors to ensure satisfaction of requirements
- Maintain required payroll information by utilizing record keeping systems
- Create and maintain department work instructions for the various payroll processes.
- Participate in various modes of training and self-paced learning to maintain/enhance professional and technical knowledge of all payroll legislation
Qualification & Experience:
1. 10+ years of US payroll administration required and multi-state experience preferred
2. Proficiency with MS Office including Excel
3. Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
4. Understanding of compensation and wage structure
5. Strong analytical, project management and problem resolution skills
6. Must have effective decision-making/critical thinking skills
7. Ability to work independently, collaborate, consult and partner with all levels and work well in a team environment
8. Excellent interpersonal communications (verbal and written)
9. Ability to multi-task, act with a sense of urgency and produce accurate results
10. Strong working knowledge of applicable federal, state and local rules and laws
11. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
12. Workday and Kronos experience is preferred
