Ensure availability of manufacturing technology across plants:
- Oversee the development and establishment of best-in-class manufacturing concepts and processes
- Ensure appropriate and timely support is provided to all plants to adhere to the technological and quality systems
- Upgrade technology for older plants/machines to achieve maximum production efficiency
Product & Process Design and Development:
- Scan the domestic and global market for technological advances in manufacturing processes
- Study domestic and global industry best practices and benchmark manufacturing cost, product cost and performance parameters vis-à-vis core competitors and similar process organizations
- Collaborate with the quality and process teams to devise new products and innovative processes by testing combination of products, assessing yield from different types of raw materials, exploring alternate variants of raw materials that help in reducing the cost of production, etc
- Collaborate with external research institutes for advanced research on new products and processes
- Initiate changes to existing products from customer insights received from the marketing team
Quality Assurance:
- Monitor quality of products delivered and identify causes for product quality issues and help resolve the same to reduce occurrence
Planning & Review:
- Finalize the budget for the technology function and ensure that it is being used appropriately for projects
- Design and use strategies, resources and processes to optimize the technical support for manufacturing and scale-up of processes from lab to commercial scale
- The incumbent must be a pulp and paper technologist with at least 15-20 years of experience.
- The role would be based out of Lalkua and will report to Chief Operating Officer (Works).
- The incumbent should be having international exposure.
