The Tax Manager ensures current & deferred taxes are properly booked following US GAAP standards and that the financial statements are in compliance with FAS 109 and FIN 48.The Tax Manager will partner with FP&A and Controllership during each forecasting cycle (GPB, SII,OP) to ensure all potential tax consequences are thoroughly vetted and accurately reflected.Develop policies for new accounting standards for a large/complex country/region or Business Segment. The role reports to CF0 of HC India
Essential Responsibilities Key responsibilities/essential functions include:
- Plan and budget the resources necessary to complete all activities on-time and in accordance with authoritative guidance.
- Own quarterly income tax provisions for legal entities within remit, including reconciliation and monitoring of their tax balances.
- Monitoring of three target goals of (1) cash, (2) operating margin and (3) net income.
- Review & lead the preparation of annual US Federal and Foreign Information or Regional Income tax returns.
- Work with Internal & External Audit teams to Manage / Respond to requests from on-going audits.
- Coordinate quarterly global income tax provision data for internal reporting.
- Participate in the preparation of [GE Healthcare’s portion] of the local income tax return.
- Provide quantitative analysis of tax attributes for planning opportunities & compliance requirements.
- Ensuring data gathering and reporting of regional income tax return information.
- Ensure global legal entity database maintained with up to date data for remit.
- Gather and maintain necessary legal documents which support tax transactions.
- Participate in all finance planning processes to ensure tax impacts are accurately reflected
- Monitor & Drive GE and GEHC corporate initiatives, simplification projects and integration projects. Provide leadership on these projects.
- Develop & Drive consistent and effective policies and procedures for new accounting standards.
- Research and advise on complex tax issues.
- Support finance, commercial, operations leaders/teams to understand tax implications of transactions and other matters by providing GE expertise and technical tax guidance.
- Work closely with financial and operational leadership to pro-actively assess and manage financial risk.

Qualifications/Requirements - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or other business related field and six years progressive accounting experience, with at least four years in tax-specific responsibilities; OR high school diploma/GED and a minimum of eight progressive accounting or finance experience
- Experience in preparing corporate income tax returns
- Experience working in a global business environment with sound understanding of global process and transactional flows
- Understanding of GE operating mechanisms & financial management practices
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate complex business issues in a clear/concise manner

- Solid PC skills: experience with financial systems/applications (i.e.: Oracle, SAP, COGNOS, Business Objects, etc.), strong Excel skills in data compilation and aggregation, for example, pivot tables, V-lookup & Macros.
