Position:-Head of Supply Chain – DRC (Africa)

Direct Reporting To - Country Head, DRC

Department :-SupplyChain

The main purpose of this position is to plan, direct and manage supply chain functions for 3 OUs of DRC. Position will manage and control all activities and processes related to logistics, container tracking, import customs clearance and other activities related to supply chain

4. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING ACTIVITIES:

- Develop and implement strategies to effectively manage different aspects of the supply chain which include sourcing, warehousing and distribution whilst assuring supply, quality, services, and cost effectiveness.

- Negotiate appropriate rates for transport from the port to location with the existing and potential transporters and Review and negotiate clearance charges with the existing local clearing and forwarding agent.

- Lead creation and effective execution of annual savings plan to reduce supply chain costs year-over-year and report monthly progress.

- Facilitate forging of strategic partnerships and alliances with key suppliers.

- Ensure that all required approvals from all authorities are secured in a timely manner.

- Ensure that good working relationships are maintained with all key government decision makers.

- Work closely with all relevant Business Managers in DRC in order to manage, plan and optimize logistics,
transportation, warehouse and inventory management.

- Ensure timely distribution of requested products to support each operating unit.

- Constantly review and enhance operations processes to meet supply chain standards and to drive business process improvements.

- Develop, implement and monitor internal controls for supply chain

- Guide and promote development of knowledge and relevant skills within the supply chain team.

5. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & AGE:

Minimum Qualification: Graduate in any discipline with post graduate diploma in logistics management.

Minimum Experience: Proven track record with 8 years of experience. Exposure to operations in an African environment would be beneficial.

Job Specific Skills:

- Fluency in English & French is a must.

- Computer operating skills required like, Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc.

- Excellent presentation skills are essential.

Note:-HOD Supply chain - French Knowledge & experience in FMCG / Pharma industry is mandatory & we highly prefer candidates who are having experience in Democratic Republic of Congo.
