Position Overview:
The Head of Supply Chain will oversee the entire supply chain operations, ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of materials, products, and information from suppliers to customers. This role involves strategic planning, process optimization, and leadership to support the company's manufacturing and operational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Supply Chain Strategy:
- Develop and implement comprehensive supply chain strategies that align with company goals and drive operational efficiency. Ensure strategies support manufacturing needs, cost reduction, and service level improvements.
Procurement Management:
- Oversee procurement activities, including supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management.
- Ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of raw materials and components.
Inventory Management:
- Manage inventory levels to balance supply and demand, minimize carrying costs, and avoid stockouts or excess inventory. Implement inventory control policies and practices.
Logistics and Distribution:
- Optimize logistics and distribution processes to ensure timely delivery of products to customers.
- Oversee transportation, warehousing, and distribution network management.
Supplier Relations:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to quality, delivery, and cost.
Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance supply chain efficiency, reduce lead times, and improve overall performance.
- Leverage technology and best practices to drive continuous improvement.
Collaboration:\
- Work closely with manufacturing, sales, and other departments to ensure alignment between supply chain activities and business objectives.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to address supply chain issues and opportunities.
Risk Management:
- Assess and manage supply chain risks, including disruptions, supplier failures, and geopolitical factors.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
Data Analysis:
- Utilize data and analytics to monitor supply chain performance, track key metrics, and make data-driven decisions.
- Generate reports and provide insights to senior management.
Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the supply chain team. Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Provide training and support to ensure team members have the skills and knowledge needed for success.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience (15+ years) in supply chain management, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role within the manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain processes, including procurement, inventory management, logistics, and distribution.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement supply chain strategies that drive operational efficiency and cost savings.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in supply chain management software and ERP systems.
- Experience with global supply chain operations and risk management is a plus
