Key Responsibilities:

Supply Chain Management:

- Supply Chain Strategy: Develop and implement effective strategies to streamline the supply chain from procurement to customer delivery, ensuring cost efficiency and on-time performance.

- Vendor & Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, logistics partners, and vendors, negotiating contracts and ensuring service levels are met.

- Demand Forecasting: Analyze sales and inventory data to forecast demand accurately and ensure adequate stock levels are maintained across distribution centers.

- Logistics Optimization: Manage logistics partners to optimize transportation routes, reduce shipping costs, and ensure timely delivery of books.

- Cost Control: Monitor and manage supply chain budgets, identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising service or quality.

Warehouse Operations:

- Warehouse Management: Oversee all warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, order processing, and shipping, ensuring the warehouse operates efficiently and meets operational targets.

- Inventory Management: Implement and monitor inventory control systems, including cycle counts and physical inventory audits, to maintain stock accuracy and minimize shrinkage.

- Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve warehouse processes, including the layout, order-picking efficiency, and space utilization.

- Team Management: Lead, train, and develop warehouse staff, ensuring all team members are aligned with operational goals and adhere to safety and compliance standards.

- Order Fulfillment: Ensure accurate and timely fulfillment of customer orders, optimizing warehouse workflows and reducing processing errors.

- Safety & Compliance: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies, promoting a safe working environment for all warehouse staff.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.

- 10+ years of experience in supply chain management and warehouse operations, ideally in a distribution or logistics environment.

- Proven expertise in managing warehouse functions, including inventory control, order fulfillment, and storage optimization.

- Strong leadership skills with experience in managing and motivating teams.

- Proficiency in supply chain and warehouse management software (e.g., WMS, SAP, Oracle, etc.).

- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a strategic mindset for driving process improvements.

- Strong analytical skills with experience in forecasting, budgeting, and inventory management.

- Knowledge of the book distribution or publishing industry is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

- Experience in managing e-commerce or multi-channel fulfillment operations.

- Knowledge of warehouse automation systems and emerging technologies.

- Familiarity with lean warehousing and inventory optimization techniques.

- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
