1. POSITION VACANT: Head of Strategic Communications, Reputed Non-Profit Organization (NPO), New Delhi

2. ORGANIZATIONAL BACKGROUND:

Our client is a leading non-profit focused on enhancing public health, specifically improving maternal and child health outcomes. The organization collaborates with governments and communities to implement effective health solutions. With a young, energetic, and passionate team, the organization operates across multiple districts and villages, directly impacting hundreds of thousands of women and children in central India.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

- The Head of Strategic Communications (HOSC) will be instrumental in shaping and executing the organization's communication strategy and amplifying its presence and influence.


- Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the HOSC will work closely with senior leadership to elevate the organization's profile both domestically and internationally.


- This role is crucial for capturing and sharing impactful stories, enhancing visibility, and supporting the organization's growth and policy influence through strategic communication.

Key Job Responsibilities:

(A) Strategic Communication:

(1) Develop and lead an innovative communication strategy aligned with the organization's goals to maximize impact;

(2) Oversee the creation and dissemination of diverse content, including written articles, multimedia, presentations, and social media updates;

(3) Select appropriate communication channels and tailor content to specific audiences;

(4) Build and promote a compelling brand narrative encompassing the organization's practices, innovations, and mission.

(B) Content Creation and Management:

(1) Manage the development of various communication materials such as articles, blogs, newsletters, reports, and multimedia content;

(2) Ensure effective management of digital platforms, including the website and social media;

(3) Drive digital initiatives and public relations efforts to enhance organizational visibility;

(4) Maintain and safeguard branding materials, ensuring consistency across all communications.

(C) Team Leadership:

(1) Build, mentor, and lead a skilled communications team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment;

(2) Set clear objectives, provide regular feedback, and support professional development for team members;

(3) Contribute to organizational strategies and support program teams in crafting impactful content for donor communications and stakeholder engagement.

(D) External Relations:

(1) Engage with external stakeholders including media, vendors, and PR consultants;

(2) Represent the organization at external events and platforms, effectively communicating its mission and impact.

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

Qualifications:

(1) A postgraduate or undergraduate degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.

Experience:

(1) 8-10 years of experience in communications, including 3-4 years in developing and executing communication strategies, preferably within the public health or social impact sectors;

(2) Proven experience in content creation across various channels, including digital and audiovisual;

(3) Demonstrated leadership in managing and mentoring teams.

Skills and Competencies:

(1) Excellent command of English and Hindi, with strong oral and written communication skills;

(2) Creative expertise in developing engaging social media content and multimedia materials;

(3) Strong storytelling ability with a knack for identifying and narrating impactful stories.

(4) Innovative thinking and the ability to work with external partners to produce high-quality content;

(5) Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to represent the organization to a diverse audience.

5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:

Gross compensation budgeted for the position is attractive. Please note that the offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and salary history.
