Job Profile - Head of Solutioning (Life science & R&D)

Leadership role to lead and scale the pre-sales/Customer Solutioning team to become a core global function. The Solutioning team functions as a key liaison between the Sales and Operations/Delivery teams and is mission critical to our growth ambitions.
The team comprises of highly experienced experts (MS, PhD level) in a variety of domain areas including bioinformatics, computational biology, Informatics and IT, who work to "think like the customer" and develop novel solutions. You will manage and drive the growth of this core function and enable us to win better and smarter in the marketplace and become the trusted partner for our life science clients.
YOUR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- You understand Sales and Operations and will manage a global team of subject matter experts who work closely with Sales and engage with clients to understand the client's pain points, needs, and requirements in the life sciences R&D domain, particularly in drug discovery and development;
- Leverage their expertise in a variety of life science domains, data science, and IT and collaborate with the Delivery teams to create technical solution concepts that address client needs ;work closely with Delivery teams to convert solution concepts into detailed proposals and pitches, ensuring alignment between client requirements and our capabilities;
- Present proposals and pitches to clients, demonstrating the value of our solutions in addressing their needs and help win business and identify opportunities to incubate, up-sell, and cross-sell on projects, ensuring continuous growth and expansion of our client relationships.
- You will meet with clients and travel to client sites as required and appropriate.
- You will ensure the team scales globally with the growth of the company to support and help drive customer acquisition and retention.
- You and your team will stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and scientific advancements to ensure that our Solutioning team remains competitive and relevant.
WHO ARE YOU? YOUR EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/EDUCATION:
You have:
- An Advanced degree (Ph.D.) in a life sciences field such as Biology, Genetics, Bioinformatics, Chemistry, Chemical Biology, Structural Biology, Biophysics, or a closely related field. A combined degree/experience with Computer Science/IT related fields would be a plus.
- Experience in the life sciences R&D domain, preferably within a biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry setting. Direct experience in drug discovery and development is highly desirable and will help drive the "Think like the Customer" mindset.
- Deep understanding of R&D processes in life sciences, and the interplay of data science, informatics, and domain expertise is a must to lead this team.
- Understanding and experience in data engineering/management principles and technologies, software development, cloud computing and cloud operations, AI/ML technologies.
- Experience in commercial functions: sales, product management, building and executing growth strategies.
- Strong customer facing communication and negotiation skills. You are very comfortable in front of customers.
- Prior experience in developing novel product/service ideas that drive internal innovation.
- Experienced in financial principles relevant to the sales process.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to grow and lead the team.
