Our client is looking for Training Head - Sales who will be reporting to Head-Sales. The person will be working for a well-funded EdTech firm, founded in 2011 by IITians, which is primarily interactive online tutoring platform where teachers provide school tuitions to students over the internet, using a real-time virtual learning environment that is a technology built in-house. It operates on marketplace model for teachers, where students can browse, discover and choose to learn from an online tutor of their choice.

Purpose

To devise our organizational training strategy, oversee its implementation and assess its outcomes. The candidate will identify training and developmental needs and drive suitable training initiatives that build loyalty to the firm.

Training Head works across many departments to get employees up to speed in both their specific vertical and the overall needs of the company. Training Head often have backgrounds in business, leadership, development, and education. Training Head responsibilities include enhancing employees- skills, performance, productivity and quality of work.

Roles & responsibilities:

- Should able to design training programs focusing on a variety of topics, including product knowledge, company philosophy, customer service, and leadership skills.

- Ensures participants receive the appropriate company orientation and build relationships with the leadership team.

- Identify and assess future and current training needs through job analysis, career paths, annual performance appraisals and consultation with line managers

- Draw an overall or individualized training and development plan that addresses the needs and expectations of the Sales Team

- Deploy a wide variety of training methods for the Sales team

- Conduct effective induction and orientation sessions

- Monitor and evaluate training program's effectiveness, success and ROI periodically and report on them

- Manage training budget and revenue Target and heavily target based work.

- Resolve any specific problems and tailor training programs as necessary

- Maintain a keen understanding of training trends, developments, and best practices

- Makes any necessary adjustments to training methodology and/or re-trains as appropriate.

- Partners with Sales leaders to assess if employees demonstrate effective technical and leadership skills. Develops and maintains an annual or quarterly training calendar.

- Selects, trains and develops an internal training cadre to support the delivery of technical skills training programs.

- Should have the ability to inspire and motivate. Must be proficient in word processing, spreadsheets and data analysis to input data, track employee training and produce training reports.

- They should have excellent observation and listening skills to determine gaps in service or job performance to design an effective training program that results in improvement. Must have strong presentation skills and understand adult learning techniques to deliver effective training programs.

- Experience in field sales training is strongly desired, excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, appropriate to the level of the audience

- A proven track record in driving performance and key field operations metrics

- Good interpersonal skills, people-oriented, proactive, good project management skill, sense of responsibility, fast learner and team player

- Driving Execution of the Training and sales strategies.

- Conduct gap analysis at all levels and design specific regional programs Assess the skill levels of the field force on-the-job

- Need based training initiatives such as Field work/On the job coaching

- Short class room training on skills & products training followed by On the Job training

Qualification/ Skills

- Proven work experience of 8-12 years as a Training Manager with previous experience in Sales and Business Development (from Edu-Tech, E-Commerce, the start-up would work).

- Track record in designing and executing successful training programs

- Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods (mentoring, coaching, new Joinee Training, on-the-job or in-classroom training, e-learning, workshops, simulations, etc)

- Excellent communication and leadership skills

- Ability to plan, multi-task and manage time effectively

- Strong writing and record-keeping ability for reports and training manuals

- Good Analytical Skills
