The Original Content and Licensing business of ENIL has been on a test and trial mode for the last 12-18 months and is now ready with a robust business plan to quickly scale and attain a significant market share in the next 2 years. This business recognizes the fast-changing consumer entertainment scenario and involves creating consumer facing content for platforms beyond radio, mainly on video format powered by the internet.
This content is monetised with brands on ENIL's YouTube (with over 7 million subscribers across channels) and digital assets (with over 15 million followers across social platforms) as well as through licensing to other curated platforms. During its trial stage, the business has created and profitably distributed multiple video series in Hindi, Tamil, Gujarati and Marathi. It has now set out to increase the content offerings manifold, in more languages and to also take revenue up multiple times.
The business derives its strength from the company's rich access to the content & talent ecosystems in Hindi and regional markets including its many own popular RJs, its ability to market the content aggressively through its existing radio and digital assets, its wide access to over 10000 brands across the country through existing sales teams and its ability to invest large sums of money where needed by virtue of being a highly profitable and cash rich company with an annual turnover of over INR 600 crores.
The company's ability to create engaging content has been proven time and again not only through its varied radio offerings for over 18 years but also through its native content properties on multiple platforms, making it one of the most popular media brands in the country. It now intends focusing its video offerings in the fiction as well as non-fiction domains with proven formats like sketches, web series, stand-up comedy as well as white label content.
A new team is now being built to meet these objectives.
Main Purpose of the Job:
- To own the revenue agenda for the business from the brands stream, for a specific market. It will involve deep engagement with brands in the specific market, (including in cities where the company does not have radio stations) showcasing our multiple video content offerings and bringing them on board, mainly for organic integration in existing shows as well as offering video solutions customized for them, with well thought through brand deliverables at commensurate valuations.
- The role will be driven and measured mainly by specific quantitative targets.
- The person will work closely with the other existing sales teams (mainly radio teams) for brands and client relationships but will drive the business agenda independently.
Candidate Profile:
- 4 - 7 years media sales experience, with at least 2 years- direct experience in selling branded content / content based solutions and digital inventory, across multiple platforms and markets. Preferably with an experience of selling branded content on TV / digital mediums. Must have strong existing relationships with advertisers across industries.
