Major Duties & Responsibilities
- Collaborates with Marketing and Product Development to develop and implement Segment strategy/ annual operating plans to accommodate corporate goals.
- Consistently delivers regional sales revenue and margin targets.
- Leads and communicates segment's forecast and margin, resource needs, and customer communication.
- Manages hiring and termination of employees, training, and performance evaluations. Assigns territories to Regional and Territory Managers, Account Managers/National Account Managers.
- Develops and implements segment's long term customer strategies.
- Represents company at trade association meetings, customer conventions and trade shows to promote Griffith Foods
- Delivers sales presentations to key clients in coordination with Regional manager/Account Manager/National Account Manager.
- Work with Segment Team leaders on approving and prioritizing projects.
- Involvement in Company Initiatives/Task Forces as needed.
- Meets with key clients, assisting Regional manager/Account Managers/National Account Managers with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.
- Analyzes and controls expenditures of direct reports and team to conform to budgetary requirements.
- Develops and maintains top level relationships within segment customer base.
- Effectively presents proposals to improve Griffith Foods overall performance.
- Monitors and evaluates the activities and products of the competition.
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor's degree (BA) from four-year college, or university with a Master degree; and 12 years of top level sales experience, of which 6 years is as a Manager.
Language Skills:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and volume.
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Internet software and Word Processing software, Presentation software, and Company Enterprise Systems. Experience with CRM is an added advantage.
Other Qualifications:
- Must be able to travel up to 70% of the time.
