Job Title: Head of Safety

Job Overview:

The Head of Safety will lead, manage, and ensure full implementation of EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) policies, procedures, and regulations across all Power Transmission and Substation projects. The role involves strategic planning, risk management, and leadership to promote a strong safety culture throughout the organization. This position will work closely with site teams, subcontractors, and project managers to ensure compliance with IMS, HSE manuals, and legal standards, fostering a safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and Implement EHS Strategy: Lead the development and execution of comprehensive EHS policies, aligning with IMS, HSE manuals, and organizational goals across all project sites.

- Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Monitor, evaluate, and ensure all projects adhere to legal and regulatory safety requirements, conducting regular audits and reviews.

- Risk Management: Prepare and maintain site-specific Project EHS Plans, Risk Assessments, and Safe Work Methods. Proactively identify potential hazards and implement risk control measures to mitigate them.

- Safety Training and Development: Identify training needs and ensure continuous learning for all staff, subcontractors, and workmen through regular training sessions on safety practices and procedures.

- Incident Investigation and Reporting: Lead thorough investigations for all incidents, near misses, and accidents. Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to minimize future risks.

- Safety Inspections and Campaigns: Conduct regular site inspections and EHS campaigns to promote safety awareness and ensure adherence to best practices.

- Leadership and Team Management: Supervise and guide EHS engineers, ensuring effective safety management across all projects. Develop a strong safety culture through mentorship and clear communication.

- PPE and Safety Equipment Management: Ensure the provision and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), first aid kits, work permit systems, and that all new workers undergo thorough safety induction.

- Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and submit monthly EHS reports, including safety statistics and progress updates, in line with the IMS manual and company standards.

- Continuous Improvement: Work closely with project managers to identify EHS shortcomings and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety performance.

Qualifications & Skills:

- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (any discipline) with a recognized Safety Diploma or Certification from an accredited institution.

- Experience: Proven experience (10+ years) in leading EHS initiatives within the Power Transmission, Substation, or related infrastructure projects.

- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership, decision-making, and communication skills, with the ability to lead and mentor a team of EHS professionals.

- Knowledge: Thorough understanding of IMS, HSE regulations, and legal safety requirements. Familiarity with risk assessments, incident investigation techniques, and CAPA processes.

- Flexibility: Willingness to travel and relocate across India as per project requirements.
