About the Company:
I. Job Summary the Head of Research, reporting directly to the CEO, will lead the Institutional Research team and drive the production of high-quality research products. This role focuses on establishing the company as a reputable entity in the Institutional Research domain. The individual will engage closely with Fund Managers, Analysts, and key players in financial institutions such as AIFs/AMCs/PMSs.
About the Role: Key responsibilities include:
- Talent management: Overseeing analysts and collaborating with internal teams like Institutional Sales.
- Cultivating and leveraging professional relationships with key Institutional Clients to foster business growth.
- Directly managing and developing a proficient Research Team to cater to Institutional Clients' needs while maintaining high research standards.
- Approving coverage lists and collaborating on key research reports, theme pieces, economic views, and event coverage.
- Contributing to the growth of Institutional revenue streams.
- Ensuring research team compliance with regulatory standards in collaboration with the compliance department.
Responsibilities:
II. Job Duties/Responsibilities % of Time Essential/Non-Essential Activity
- 40% Essential Team management & development + Client Meetings:
- Supervising the Institutional Research team and guiding them in producing relevant reports for Institutional Clients.
- Conducting client meetings.
35% Essential Own Reports, Roadshows & Media:
- Publishing key theme reports and thought leadership notes.
- Planning and executing activities like road shows.
- Maintaining visibility in digital and print media for self and team.
25% Essential Others:
- Monitoring regulatory developments affecting key segments.
- Collaborating with Institutional Sales to onboard new clients.
- Building internal relationships for company Research's premier positioning among top brokers in India.
Qualifications: Desirable Qualifications:
- CFA, CA, or MBA from Premier Institutes.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong communication, presentation, and research report writing skills.
- Perseverance, patience, flexibility, and adaptability.
- Strategic thinking and leadership in relationship building.
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills aligned with business principles.
- Leadership qualities focused on team development, mentoring, and fostering a learning culture.
- Minimum 8 years of Institutional Equity research experience with multi-sector coverage.
- Extensive network with Fund Managers and buy-side players.
- Strong corporate connections at CXO levels
