Head - Research & Development/Product Design & Development - Auto/Manufacturing

Job Description Essential :

1. Establishing manufacturing control plan.

2. Knowledge of Patent & design registration.

3. Project & product cost analysis.

4. Product packaging & testing

5. Project handover to manufacturing

6. Proficient in any 3D software, preferably SolidWorks.

7. Knowledge of GD & T, Tolerance stack up.

8. Knowledge of various standards, materials & manufacturing processes.

Desirable :

1. Product concept generation in collaboration with marketing, prototyping, testing and generating part drawings for tool design & manufacturing.

2. Project planning and management : Managing activities right from conceptualization stage to execution, time estimation, scheduling of projects. Align team on technical issues, project relate queries and quality of job.

3. Research and development project/concept analysis, NPD, Design development.

4. Managing detail designing of products.(Conceptual designing, detailed calculations, component selection, plan drawings, material selection and part drawing)/

5. Designing and developing products as per requirements and target budget. Preliminary design review with engineering and in house team on technical issues and quality of the product.

6. Monitoring the team of designers for getting layout and products prepared by using requisite tools/software's like solid works, Catia and Auto CAD.

7. Utilizing the concepts of DFM, DFA, DFMEA, GD&T and QFD during designing. Extensive use of DOE and 7 QC tools for problem solving.

8. Preparation of all quality documents such as APQP, DFMEA. Design reviews and PPAP etc.as per TS-16949 for sooth and defect free new products.

9. Preparing MIS and annual budget for the department.

10. Team management, training and monitoring of the performance of the entire team and monitoring of projects and their timeline to meet the organization objectives.

11. Ideal candidate should be heading the R&D/Development center in automotive/ light engineering/precision industry etc.
