Head - Regulatory Affairs - Consumer Products Firm

Purpose :

- Responsible for leading Regulatory affairs for India within AIE - R&D (Technical).

- Primary responsibility for ensuring regulatory compliance of our products, ensuring products are safe for us by consumers and devising regulatory strategies to open market access to new products and technologies.

- In partnership with the Head - R&D and Corporate Regulatory Policy Intelligence group has co-responsibility to develop the regulatory strategy for the affiliate.

Primary Responsibilities :

- Leading all regulatory and safety activities in India to ensure product compliance

- Lead Regulatory approvals/Registration/ Licensing activities & ensure all approvals are obtained from relevant regulatory agencies on time

- Leading product safety activities, including testing and complaint resolution

- Leading regulatory staff to ensure alignment and compliance of Legal matters

- Lead Regulatory staff to ensure customs clearance of ingredients/products are happening in partnership with Supply Chain team

- Driving process improvements to maximize the value of group outputs while minimizing spend

- Ensuring implementation of regulatory policy across the organization in compliance with company standards and policies

- Develop proactive regulatory strategies, risk assessments and approaches in partnership with Head - R&D, Corporate Regulatory Policy Intelligence Group, Product Development staff to protect and expand product access within market

- Support in planning and coordinating regulatory activities with trade associations, standardization bodies, governmental advisors, scientific cooperation partners which have considerable influence on organizations ability to sell existing / new products

- Contribute to the development of legislation standards to the benefit of the corporation in accordance with local legal procedures and industry standards

Also includes :

- Developing and implementing a strategy for Regulatory Affairs aligned with enterprise strategies

- Delivering functional accountabilities on time and on budget

- Leading and participating in cross-functional, cross-location project teams related to unit and divisional initiatives

Additional Scope Information :

- Responsible for functions of Nutrition, Beauty, Home Care compliance within Regulatory affairs

- Position located in Gurgaon with direct line reports in H.O.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And/or Related Experience :

- Bachelors/Masters Science or Engineering degree with an emphasis in Food Chemistry, Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy or related field (15-18 years)

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Related Experiencen:

- Global consumer products industry experience to include an understanding of the competitive market environment, understanding of key competitors and consumers, engagement in new technologies and an understanding of global regulatory systems and trends

- Ability to craft & communicate a strategy from the macro to the micro, conveying a purpose closely aligned to corporate vision and imperatives

- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to effectively work through differing viewpoints to include harnessing emotions in oneself and others to achieve intended goals

- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, situational leadership techniques, and the prioritization and coordination of people and resources

- Knowledge of principles and procedures for recruiting, selecting, training, assessing, and motivating talent to reach group objectives

- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards, and evaluation of customer satisfaction

- Approaches, tools and techniques that promote the ability to transcend traditional ideas, rules, patterns and relationships to create meaningful new ideas, forms, methods and interpretations in a variety of business situations

- Evaluating propositions or hypotheses and making judgments on the basis of well-supported evidence
