Position Summary : We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Quality Control to lead our in-process quality systems. The ideal candidate will be in their mid-thirties to early forties with a solid background in quality control, preferably in high-standard manufacturing sectors. A successful candidate will be not only a leader in quality assurance but also an empathetic team player who understands the importance of maintaining a productive and positive work environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop, implement, and manage our in-process quality control systems to ensure the highest quality of production.
- Oversee a team of quality control inspectors, engineers, and technicians.
- Establish quality metrics for manufacturing processes and ensure compliance with both internal standards and external regulations.
- Conduct regular analysis of production data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Conduct site visits to understand quality implications of installation.
- Collaborate with the manufacturing, R&D, Technical Services and engineering departments to enhance quality at all stages of production.
- Manage supplier quality by conducting audits and assessments to ensure their processes meet our standards.
- Facilitate continuous improvement activities, applying Six Sigma, Lean, or other methodologies.
- Investigate customer complaints and non-conformance issues, and lead corrective and preventive action plans.
- Lead by example, promoting a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the company.
- Prepare and manage the quality control department's budget.
- Stay abreast of advancements in quality control technologies and systems, and implement them appropriately.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and develop training programs for quality control personnel.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in a quality control role within a manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years in a leadership position.
- Extensive experience with quality systems relevant to auto ancillaries or similar precision manufacturing industries.
- Strong understanding of statistical process control, six sigma, lean manufacturing principles, and ISO quality standards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate to employees at all levels and promote a collaborative environment.
- Strong project management skills, with a detail-oriented and proactive approach.
- Must be empathetic, with the ability to understand and consider the team's perspective and work to resolve their challenges.
