Job Description

Qualifications : B.E.(Chemical Engineering) or Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Chemistry from institute/university of a repute

Key Skills : Analytical, result-oriented professional, Sound knowledge of quality management systems, cement chemistry and cement microscopy with expertise in Plant operation

Key Responsibilities :

1. Lead and guide all quality related aspects at the plant site by implementing quality management systems, quality plans and controls to achieve plant objectives

2. Ensure the quality of products and their compliance with the standardized and contractual requirements

3. Ensure completion of quality control tests and inspection tasks for raw materials (chemical analysis of packing bags), in-process and finished products.Overall control of Raw Mix designing, finish product mix design

4. In charge for the achievement of key performance indicators in the field of product quality and quality systems related agreed targets for the overall plants performance

5. Ensure the availability of raw materials & AFR for production in cooperation with the other dept.Ensuring optimal quality of raw materials, fuels and products

6. Define and set quality targets for the production department

7. Maintain relationship with external stakeholders like BIS, etc.

8. Carry out different trials related to Research & Development for development of new products related to cement & concrete,

9. Recommend and implement quality control methodologies in cooperation with the production department

10. Coordinate and carry out product quality tests and recommend measures for its improvement

11. Provide the necessary guidance to laboratory staff and ensure the continuous improvement of its competency

12. Plan cost and capital budget for the department; adhering to revenue budget. Execute various capital budget jobs in the department with strict adherence to cost & schedule.

13. Identify specific developmental needs and gaps of the assigned staff

14. Train and develop the assigned staff to provide specific knowledge

15. Control and guide the daily work and ensure the safety regarding the laboratory activities

16. Implement standardized reporting functions, work instructions for optimizing the process chains

17. Carry out annual performance reviews of employees

18. Ensure a well-organized communication of decisions and current developments of technical information and those relating to the quality between various actors

19. Responsible for the implementation and updating of the quality management system ( IMS) for the continuous improvement of all quality related processes

20. Ensure the use of necessary data analysis in order to improve the established quality system

21. Secure the retention of the certification of marketed products and quality systems

22. Continuous reporting to the Plant Manager

23. Comply with all relevant company and statutory environmental, health and safety procedures and guidelines

24. To co- ordinate and control the day to day operations of inspection personnel, so as to provide a safe, secure and efficient working environment, ensuring :

- All plant and equipment is safely operated.

- All physical resources are maintained, stored and organised to allow efficient and effective operation.

25. To control and direct all QC resources, operations and facilities in order to adhere to quality systems.
