Job Title: Head Quality
Location: Baroda
Reports to: Plant Manager (Direct) & to Corporate Quality Head (Dotted Line)
1) Goal of position
- Division and Business Unit related to Quality Coordination.
- Establish, maintain and improve the Quality Management system, Quality awareness, network and practices in the unit.
- Drive Quality development & programs according to the targets.
- Technical lead of Quality functions in unit related Production-lines, Plants and link to purchasing.
- Quality - face to the customer.
- Coordinate methods. Procedures, rules with Corporate Functions and drive their proper implementation and application.
- Support and Control adequate Quality preparation in projects ( PEP, transfers)
- Release and Hold Responsibility (escalation) with related authority.
- Represents Quality Management in the unit.
2) Formal prerequisites for the position (e.g. training, experience, education etc.)
- B. Tech / BE from reputed institute.
- 15-20 Years of experience in precision automotive engineering industries or Automotive OE, Corporate Quality before joining IBI.
- Qualified auditor
- Experience in Handling customer base for implementing better customer satisfaction
- knowledge of QMS like ISO, TS 16949, VDA, customer specific requirement etc.
- knowledge of Kaizen, TPM, six sigma, Suggestion scheme, etc
- Able to handle more than ten engineers & inspector together effectively.
- Able to handle effectively customers and suppliers.
3) Tasks (Description of main tasks)
- To align company targets with Quality Function.
- To ensure Zero Defect product to the Customers.
- Support warranty analysis & improvement plan
- Tracking vendor Rating & Drive improvement plan.
- Supporting for complain handling in the region.
- System improvement in Business Units (BU) & Business Divisions (BD).
- Coordination with Production Line for necessary improvements.
- Understanding Customer Specific Requirements ( CSR) for new projects & coordinate for deployment
- Coordination with Automotive plants for improvement
- Participation in New Project Management (NPM), Rise Level Analysis (RLA).
- Audit for PPAP readiness.
- Support quality readiness in new project
- Quality targets tracking & drive improvement
- Co-ordination of departmental activities.
- To ensure timely response for the Customer & suppliers concerns.
- To ensure the skill enhancement & multi skilling of team members.
- Productivity improvement.
