Preferred candidate profile

The incumbent must be Post Graduate / Graduate Engineer from reputed College, Post Graduate Diploma in Supply Chain would be added advantage. A diploma in Material Management is desired with minimum 15 20 years of experience in Purchase / Supply Chain in domain of Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Specialty Chemical, Steel, Fertilizer, Projects etc.

Role & responsibilities:

This position is accountable for on time procurement and sourcing of materials of right quality, quantity at optimum cost with optimum inventory levels at Plant locations. Operate with proper system and processes to contribute towards Business efficiency drives for maximizing revenue through continuous improvement and innovative initiatives.

Key Result Areas

- Cost Optimization through Strategic Sourcing and Material Distribution

- Preparing Budget for procurement and sourcing of packing materials, chemicals ensuring effective utilization of materials sourced at optimum cost.

- Identifying and developing potential suppliers for achieving cost effective purchases of Project and Revenue related material, Spares, Capital Goods and Consumables. Development of alternative and/or additional sources to increase competitiveness and availability of materials.

- Reduction of Inventory Holding Cost through Checking of Requisitions, Utilization of Non-Moving & Slow-Moving Items, shifting towards Vendor Managed Inventory

- Spearheading the discussion with Business Heads/Plant Head/Department Heads for assessing and planning for material requirements in line with consumption patterns and expected delivery schedules.

- Managing the overall procurement of Project and Revenue, consumables, equipment and machinery spares including maintenance of inventory level viz. minimum stock/ buffer stock.

- Establishing developing and implementing processes and systems for effective procurement across all the Plants, investigate opportunities and confronting obstacles for improvement.

- Participating in analysis of drawings/ requirement through Value Engineering / Value Analysis to source procurement at Optimum Cost.
